Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Morning!!! My back is hurting so I barely have the energy to type….lol
I have been busy….I walked, swept the patio since the neighbors pine tree things are all over the patio, yard and garden, I made sugar water, cleaned hummer feeders and filled them, fed the birds, ironed a couple things….i guess that doesnt sound like much.

well, plans might be changing…my sister might go back home today…her DH is having knee problems and hard for him to function…their foster son is going over to get the walker out of the garage and give it to him, he’s usually pretty helpful when they ask. So just waiting to see what she decides for sure. It’s so warm out and a breeze…good day to hang clothes out on the line.

I’m sorry for your sister’s husband. Is the knee an injury or osteoarthritis?

Good morning Bella Buds. We are 63 already. I think we have rain coming. That is ok, it brings spring flowers. I am at a new mile marker in my life, one a have never been at. It is still unfamiliar and I guess will be for a long time. For the very first time since I was 7, I am at a normal weight, a normal BMI. I have been morbidly obese, severe, obese, overweight but normal. I just heard the best story about my #1 Celebrity. You know her name! A woman had just moved from Texas to… Read more »

I want to loose a little more. I’m at the higher end of normal BMI for all women, the lower end for elderly women. But I want a little wiggle room. My body will always “want” to be obese. Once I read when you loose weight the fat cells shrink but don’t go away. The body wants to fill them up. There is brain involvement too, and metabolism. Right now they recommend people like me to stay on the medicine. They haven’t found a downside to continuing the medicine. In fact they are finding new benefits. I see my primary… Read more »
