Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I looked like he started it, Dawn looked surprised then really angry. My feelings about Gino go back to the 80’s. I was a strong supporter and admirer of Pat Summit. Not only was she the coach of the Lady Vols, the predominate TN team of my birth state, but she was to women’s basketball what Billie Jean King was to women’s tennis and Caitlyn Clark is to Women’s pro basketball. A camping friend of mine was a UT instructor, I think PE. She used to have Pat and the whole team to her house in the early days. She gave me a book written by Pat. She got tickets for us to attend a game by putting out the word that she needed tickets for the game. The tickets came from season ticket holders who were not attending the game that day. Hi Julie sounds like a great day. Good company, I bet good food. Bet y’all laughed and had a good time. Didn’t you tell me this place was small, like maybe 6 residents? Congratulations and way to go fixing the wheelchair. A big help for Narb and her caretaker. I wonder how the chair even got in that position. But kudos to you for figuring it out and fixing it. I’m sure it was a major help for Barb, it is a big part of her life.
I’m just happy we figure it out and fixed it, she needs to have the supports on it as because it didn’t her foot swelled up real bad so couldn’t let it go
Of course you couldn’t let it go. . I’m sure she is happy you fixed it. Without the supports you also feel like you could fall out of the wheelchair and you have to be careful your foot doesn’t drag on the ground. It doesn’t take long just holding up your feet for it to be tiring.

Hi Ardyth ♥ I have a cookbook i purchased while in Mazatlan, Mexico almost 50 years ago. When Cody/Laura move, I’ll give them the book so they won’t feel too deprived. There are no restaurants in SC that have any idea on what real Mexican food should taste like.
Oh that is too bad!!!! My hometown in MN now has authentic Mexican restaurants.And they are pretty good!! When I grew up there the town was 99% white.
If the restaurants are still open? because everyone has been deported alot of places closed😪
Maybe you can send me a cheese enchilada recipe from the book.
I’ll be happy to do that 💗 The poor book is falling apart; it’s all paper clipped together. 😂 That recipe is so good; we had a pot luck many years ago and one of my co-workers, Becky Jiron, asked me why my enchiladas were better than hers 😂 I told her i’m sure they aren’t.

Hey everyone! I kind of fell off the face of the Earth again. Went to bed sometime yesterday, and couldn’t bring myself to get up more than to feed Dutchess or use the lady’s room. I’m awake now, and boiling chicken for the last batch of special food. We are hoping she can go back to regular food after that. The other situation, well, I can’t do anything about that. Hey Ardyth. I lived in Colorado Springs. We had NORAD and all that going on big time at that point, plus other military stuff. We had “air raid” alarms go off at least once a week for years. Plus, the schools had extra alarms to ensure the children would be able to know what to do when it happened. It was just so scary. (Like a desk would make that big of a difference.)

Hi Karen I certainly hope this is the last natch of dog food you have to make for little Dutchess and she gets better and better. Wasn’t the thing getting under our desks related to the Cuban Missile crisis during the JFK presidency? Or maybe the Cold War. We did watch the Vietnam War every day. I didn’t know that happened in Decorah. I read the chat there and don’t remember reading it. Maybe the bole was collecting water. Well, all is good now.

Hi Debbie. NORAD was under construction from 61 to 67. And yes, the missile crisis was part of it also. There are other military things that I don’t know about completely, but it was just a highly sensitive time. My Dad helped create, install and maintain the NORAD computer (it took up a full room.) it’s hard to think of a computer being that big. The little chick somehow bounced out of the bole. Wow Karen how special is it that your Dad had such a big part in NORAD. Was that his job? Early computers? When I was in graduate school in 1976 I had to go to wherever the big computer was on campus to have data analyzed for my thesis. The computer was so big it took a room the size of my school’s library early in my teaching career. I read just now that NORAD has 1000 soldiers, personnel and military dependents. What branch of the military are they?
Hi Debbie. When they started, and as far as I know, they had mostly U.S. and Canadian Air Force personnel, but I believe they have Army and Navy now. In the beginning, there were only two people who knew the software for the computer the government wanted to use on the desired computer. Neither of them was my Dad, but they picked him up as an associate and had him learn the language. He always told me he was a computer programmer. I don’t know all the details. Your Dad may not have been the original two but he was obviously a genius and important man. It would have scared me to have people running into my house. Must have been top secret stuff. Best I remember my thesis coordinated personality traits with college major. Like people with certain personality traits choose certain majors and therefore personality dictates career choice.

Hi Lady Bug😍🐞 I also grew up with the duck and cover in school, had to do it everyday, scared the crap out of me- I would have dreams about the big mushroom cloud in the sky… what a thing for a kid to go through and here we are still kind of duck and covering😫
Hi Butterfly. 🦋😘 You are so right. I used to dream, almost every night, about the Russians coming to get me in my bedroom. I could hear them coming into the house. Saw them with their big huge guns and their helmets. The dreams never went further than that though. I never had the mushroom cloud dream. 🙏
Good afternoon…home now…we picked up a couple things at DQ, where we rarely go…chicken strips and queso pretzels for my sister…she enjoyed hanging out here with the furkids…watched tv, rested, had avocado toast and tea, petted the dogs/cats. We went for a little walk when we got back and now she left with our mom..they have a couple places to go. When I was growing up we had screens to put on the windows in the summer then take them off in the fall and put on the storm windows that had to have each glass frame reputtied again before the were put up I would help my Dad do it every year
