Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

morning, Julie..was your tornado watch extended last night? ours was, until 11.
Mine stopped at 8, they were moving so fast they were in and out in a couple of hours- The warm front was coming from the south, just settled in on you guys-the conditions just remained longer in your area
ok…yes they were supposed to stop at 8 here…wasn’t happy when it was extended but DH stayed a bit longer
The worst of the storms stayed south of me, Wisconsin-Illinois boarder
Good morning Julie, sounds like you should have a fun day with Judy and her cousins and the fish fry the best part of all
Good morning Sunshine. Sounds like a great day planned. Have fun. Is this the same cousin in the wheelchair you talked about before?
Good morning….a cloudy day, high of 65…my sister is going to stay here with the furkids while we are out and about for a bit. For awhile it was raining really hard last night, think I said that. oh and I forgot to say that DH’s nephew was involved in the launch in some way…think he designs/ builds them? not sure what else but works for NASA and so did his dad. So one of the caregivers watched with FIL. Hope you all have a nice day 😊
Good morning Lynn😍 wow nephew works for NASA😘 hope you have a good “GOOD FRIDAY”
Good morning Lynn, nice! Your sister said she’d hang out for a while while you get out
Good morning Lynn. Hope no property damage, but I know your frustrations with rain. How exciting to work with NASA.
Good night to all. I hope everyone is safe from storms, no power outages or damage. Have a good nite, love to all, see you tomorrow.
I can’t believe how many are on this feeder. I never get more than two or they fight.
Hi Becki. I said the same thing a few days ago. Two on my feeder and they try to kill each other. I think it was Pam that said the Allen’s are more mellow or something like that. Good to see you.
They are so territorial over food-Its mine
Hi Becki 😘 Everyone says that about these Allen’s; i guess they’re just the nicer subspecies of hummers 😂
Hi Becki😍 great capture😘 have a Happy Easter💖
Chicken piccata mashed potatoes and asparagus tonight
Supper looks good. I’ve never had that kind of chicken. I don’t think I’ve had capers. Not sure. Hope you sleep better tonight.
oh yum!! I want that!
It’s just chicken breasts pounded out
With a lemon caper sauce which makes it way more than pounded chicken.
Looks good. I made that a few nights ago. We had mashed with it too. 😀
Rick loves mashed potatoes. I was hoping for rice. Oh well
I usually do angel hair pasta.
It would be so good with pasta with that sauce😋
Mmm — 😋
Oh Arsyth I would like that😋
oh crap!! now the watch goes until 11!! I was happy it was only until 8…hopefully won’t have to go to the basement, hard to get pets down there my self 🙁
Good luck Lynn. Stay safe
thanks, Ardy…wonder if Julie’s was extended..
