Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I am so excited, it feels surreal. During Biden’s administration, our local communications company got a grant to install fiber-optics in the rural parts of Colo. I’m not in the city-proper, & have called several times to see if they were ever coming this far west. Well, that day has arrived! They put 2 of those door-handle type flyers with a Christmas special installation on the front door today 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ The special is good for the month of December. We may actually be able to use Prime Video without the ever-present blue circle of doom.

Oh WOW Pam that is great! Fiber optic is the best, and it is worth paying a little extra for more whatever it is called, mbs? The fiber optic can handle what plain wire can’t. Congrats!

DirecTV didn’t offer internet out here; i have a whole other company and now i’m going to have fiber; better service and less $$. that’s pretty cool.

It will be cool. So you will have both tv and internet by fiber optic, and tv will be streaming as opposed to cable? Cable can function over fiber optic too.

Sheet day, ugh; love the end result, just hate doing the work to get there. Turkey’s in the fridge; it always takes longer to thaw than the directions say. Chuck went to the store to get the rest of the meal. i remembered to add Reddi Whip to his list but forgot to tell him to get cream cheese for stuffing celery, i know he won’t remember; however, i think there’s a brick in my own fridge. 😉 Nephew Keegan is home from school, he goes to Heartland in Normal, IL. He brought 2 of his friends with him; both boys… Read more »

How fun for Keegan hosting his friends, Its great he’s made these friends and life long memories being made there. I would bring animals home too. I had a bat, several wild fabbits, cats a dog, frogs turtles, many birds a squirrel good thing I’m not up north I would have deer and any other critter that needs help😘

Y’all bet fancy with your Thanksgiving meal but it does sound good. It is really good Keegan is bringing international students home with him. It can get lonely for them over the holidays. I brought home several Asian students. They were happy about it because most students from Asia want to learn all they can about American tradition and culture.

Lucky I got my turkey out of the garage fridge. It was frozen solid. And I have also found it to be true it takes longer to thaw a turkey than they say. Maybe we keep our fridge colder than most.

It does take a long time, My Mom is thawing the turkey up north, she started yesterday, if its still really frozen can leave it out on the counter over night, have done that in the past-was just thinking no Micheal coming over to stuff the turkey, he loved doing that, he would take the turkey under the wings and make it walk around, he also gave it a couple of spanks on the butt, really was funny😂 I will miss that💖

I always got my turkey out of the freezer at about 500 p.m. the night before. I ran cool water in the sink, and put the tukey in there and covered it with a cool wet kitchen cloth. The sink was to the top with water.Throughout that evening, about every 45-60 mins, I would change the water and re-wet the cloth and flip the turkey. When I went to bed, I just left it like that all night, and by the time I got up in the morning my turkey was thawed.

Like I said Rick bought oven cleaner and cleaned the oven which always makes a mess ….I took everything out in the drawer below and washed things and pulled the oven out when he was done and washed behind it. So is the butter like a herb butter with a kick? A week or two ago I did a little research comparing alcohol with marijuana. Hands down the “health” benefit goes to marijuana if you don’t smoke it. I found very little bad really. And of course it needs to be pure, not laced with other things that are more harmful. Growing it or buying it legally should take care of that. I really expected to find a lot more negatives. It even said car accidents were more rare with it than alcohol because drivers tended to be aware of… Read more »

But if you drive and get picked up your DWI and in trouble the same as drinking alcohol. They used to spray Paraquat on pot fields in the 80’s it was a herbicide defoliant, and if you got pot that was sprayed with it it could make you sick. They sprayed to make people stop using pot, they poisoned people. That was the only additive I was worried about in the 80’s-localy grown Marijuana is safe, cultivated safely

I would only get it in a store where I’m sure there are guidelines to help a novice and also people to help. You would learn exactly what you are getting. It would be like this bottle is 60 proof, this bottle is 90, this white stuff is pure grain. Big difference in those bottle, pour accordingly.
