Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Julie I was half way replying to you below about what I’m bringing for Christmas when the site refreshed on its own. 🤬😡. I was already experiencing that delayed typing. This site is just getting hard for a lot of people it seems. I usually in the past only had this problem at night when there is a lot of traffic.

That is what is happening to me, Debbie. Right in the middle of something and it refreshes. Sometimes I get the aw snap notice as the site goes away.

Good morning. I’m kind of dragging this morning it wasn’t a good night. When we got home Nikki had peed on the bath mat in the hall bathroom and pooped on the carpet in the spare bedroom. Probably our fault because she’s had too much people food ’cause that’s what happens. Not all of the people will go but yes they are people from the group. Different people will go to different events just depending on what they want to do. Oh we just give her little bits of what we eat and this happens all the time eventually she ends up with diarrhea but I try and tell Rick but you know doesn’t work And she is not going to live forever which we know so let her be happy although doesn’t make me happy
I’m not sure it makes her happy, but I understand how it is. Maybe buy some canned chicken that makes a good treat. It is soft, in broth, and good. Your friends sure know how to entertain, and they find such good houses to do it in. Seems the house is well equipped..

That is very true, she has no choice. Maybe Rick can save some white meat chicken from what he cooks sometimes and freeze little pieces of it. Keep it in a bag in the freezer and use that for little treats now and then. Chicken is pretty tolerable most of the time, without problems. Just a thought.

Chicken has chemicals in it, vet told my friend Judy not to feed chicken-chicken by products to her little dog, it can make them sick
Really! My vets always tell me to give them real home cooked chicken if I’m going to do any home dog food cooking — which I do often. I add vegetables and rice. When I do that, I also add a dog vitamin. Never had a problem, in 50 years. Maybe vets in different areas of the country feel differently.

I think it is 15 pounds. I wish it was an 8 pound breast, but it doesn’t make sense to get a breast half the size and twice the money. So like 4 times the cost per pound.

I don’t think its good to eat your own species, People eating people causes something like mad cow disease in people, but raptors eat other birds so birds are different
But then there’s bird flu disease. So, I think it’s best to stay away from your own kind. Maybe. But, sea life is different. I don’t think they can get anything else.
But the avian flu is caused by mosquitos
I’m gonna freeze the legs, I like dark meat and they will make future meals for me. I’ll need to freeze some white meat too. It freezes really well if I add the turkey drippings. It makes reheating the meat retain juices.
Sounds like a good plan, Debbie. I think people should actually cook turkeys twice a year, but they are usually quite expensive during half holiday time. But then, there are folks who buy two or three turkeys during the Thanksgiving/ Christmas season. Eat one and freeze two. I did that back in my prior life. 🤷
I have done that too. But I’m not really sure if turkey is better than chicken. I have thought about buying a whole chicken and roasting it like a turkey.
I guess it depends on the flavor you’re looking for. Whenever I make turkey I also feel like I have to make dressing, so I keep that in mind these days. Roasted chicken is good too though.

😋 I love the breasts and the wings. The wing is about the right portion for me. And I love to dip them in sauce. A lot of people don’t like legs or wings and toss them.
When we went to Ricks step moms they would fight over the wings!

Good Morning Debbie , your Turkey should be thawed by Thursday, That way you don’t have to bring it back and forth to the garage fridge they are nearby and awkward to carry. Getting bags ready is a good idea. Take your pills honey. Do they know what’s being served for Christmas, that might help in deciding what to make?
I’m cooking the turkey Wednesday. We keep our fridges pretty cool, I just want to be sure. For Christmas there will be a lot of variety. Turkey, ham and lots of stuff. I’m thinking of ambrosia. It is easy that I can’t mess it up. I can prepare it the day before, hard to transport, doesn’t need to be reheated when I get it there, and looks festive. It will have powdered sugar but I think if it isn’t eaten I can still eat a little at home because the rest of the ingredients are fairly low calorie.
Oh ok the day before so I would check it too😘 how about green bean casserole or cheesy potatoes?

This is more a salad not so much like a dessert. This is mainly oranges, coconut, some powdered sugar, a few jarred cherries mainly for a little color. Just simple.

I used to make a tasty ambrosia, but I can’t remember the ingredients right now. There’s always deviled eggs, cranberry relish and hord d’oeuvres if you want to think about something like that. I prefer the ambrosia or fruit salad though. 😋😜

I just got an Aw Snap error from an Amazon ad pop up. Arg!!!
You actually have the add pop up? I haven’t had that happen on the computer, if your on your phone are you tapping something to open it up? I just get the add in the posts its just there in with the posts
I just get a little rectangular pop-up in between posts, about an Amazon ad. I have to click on it to get the ad. But my error occurred as soon as the rectangular pop-up came on. Kind of weird. It’s on my phone.

I might try SPO on the computer again. It’s kind of different than on the phone and I get messed up sometimes, though. Also, it’s not a laptop, and I have to be in the office to use it. But I’ll give it a shot next time I’m up there. Thanks for the idea, Julie.

have you tried a different brower? If everything works in a different browser then you can at least narrow it down.

I think the ads might be contributing to the problem but I know they are what pays SPO.
