Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good for him; I don’t think any of the governors will be following those ‘orders’ 🙄 They don’t work for him; they work for the people of their respective states!!

Hello! I think F23 is getting ready to lay eggs. Just “sitting” in nest bowl, staring around.

No, Julie I haven’t seen her. I have been hunting for her here and there. Nothing is going on at NCTC. I know she follows that one.

She was there for a long time and then just flew away. Actually, there is the tip of an eagle’s tail feathers on one of the cams, so one of them is still in the tree.

F probably knows. Made me think. Have any first eggs been laid during the night? Like right now she roosts off the nest tree. But if she was to lay an egg after dark she would need to get back to the nest.
