Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. If I got my times right, Ardy plans to leave her cousin’s house for the airport 1:30 PT, which is 3:30 CT. She changes planes in Denver and arrives in Tucson. I don’t remember those times. I just hope it goes as well coming home as it did going there.
So weird, going to Denver and then back to Arizona. I am hoping it goes well also. 🙂

Tomorrow, November 10th, 2025, the 50th anniversary of the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Several specials on youtube, and I had to listen to the song again, by Gordon Lightfoot.
They have a service every year, tomo’s will be extra special. The bell is rung 29 times to commemorate each person who went down with the ship, after Lightfoot died, he got his own and now the bell is rung 30 times.
Made me tear up when I saw them talking about it tonight. And his song is just so haunting. I’m glad they are continuing the tradition.
