Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Our humpback-whale timmy , some call him hope, is free now and swims in the north sea. Hopefully to the arctic ocean, where he will find his food, krill and small fish. He was stranded for many weeks in the baltic sea, was carried inside a big barge ( with water in it like a swimming pool for the whale) to the north sea and is now free. Private rich folks payed for it all. Those are good news in globally difficult times. 🐋 😃 .
Be well , girls. 😘 😃 💐 .
Still a gif which i found here, to see how wonderful they are.💙
Happy weekend…..poof😃.
Such great news Gabi 😘
Yeah!
This had really caught me emotionally. I was so sorry for the poor whale.
Enjoy the derby.😘
Very happy news. I have another post to you. Not sure if it is here, below, or at Deerfield.
Sweetie, i always find your posts.🥰
😁🥰
Its such a good story Gabi, and that they were able to rescue such a big animal, plus they have learned a method of how to rescue such a a animal-just put it in the ocean taxi and send it home😘
Yes, that is true. But it only happened because 2 very rich people payed for it.
Not sure if this kind of rescue would happen again, if it would be up only to our officials. They wouldnt have done anything for timmy, the bastards.🤮☹️.
Ok Phamily, it is time for me to get ready for bed. I got a couple small things I need to do before I head to my bedroom. If I don’t have time to post before I leave tomorrow, I’ll post on the way. Jo will be driving. Leaving at 9:45 doesn’t give me much time to get me and Casey ready to go, make a small cooler, etc. it has been a good while since I’ve had to leave home before 11. Love to all and see you tomorrow.
Have a lovely time, Debbie. I’m so glad Casey gets to go. 😘 Enjoy your cake. You deserve it. Talk to you tomorrow. Love you. Nite-nite.
😁. Oh no Casey isn’t going! I meant get him up, cage ready, new food and water. Things I have to do before we as in Jo and I leave. Thanks Karen, love you and good night.
Oh, okay. Dang it, I tried, Casey 🤣😍. Sweet dreams to all 3 of you. 🩵🩷
Have a great tie celebrating Nancy’s Birthday!!
Thanks Ardy.
Thanks.
Debbie, Have a wonderful time tomo {{HUGS}} ♫♪♫ Happy Birthday to Nancy ♫♪♫
Safe Travels 🙏
Thank you Pam. Be ready to hear all about it. I don’t think I’ve been anywhere noteworthy except Walmart and doctors since Christmas. 😆. Walmart “noteworthy “? Boy that is BAD.
😂
Answering questions or comments from this morning : I forgot when I was leaving my May Day basket this morning, that we also left the basket anonymously, ringing the doorbell and running. 😍 Like Julie and Ardyth mentioned. It was so much fun! I also didn’t know there were other reasons and ways for celebrating it. Debbie, I’m wondering if it was a territorial thing. I would have thought that Kentucky or the surrounding states would have done that also. Ardyth, I meant would you be able to send me a list of the records you have? I might want… Read more »
I don’t know anyone here that celebrates May Day. No mention of it in school. But I had heard the term, just not the gift thing or baskets. I had heard of something called a May pole but thought that had to do with a real pole with a ball attached. Easter egg hunts and baskets are popular down here.
Interesting! Here’s an NPR article about it, just. FYI, if you feel like reading it sometime. We love and participate in Easter egg hunts and baskets also. https://www.npr.org/sections/npr-history-dept/2015/04/30/402817821/a-forgotten-tradition-may-basket-day
I think the May pole was a European thing. I’m not sure.
See it said “forgotten tradition” and discreet pockets of the country. So it isn’t just me! Sounds like a fun tradition. It must be an upper Midwest tradition.
😄Must be regional⁰. Don-t know how it got to Colorado.??
Karen I can PM you all the pictures i took, there are lots of them!
For some reason I keep thinking about cake. 😂
It’s almost here 🎂 then after the 1st bite, you’ll be done 😂
I hope so. 😂
