Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning Bella Buds. It is 52, rainy. We need the rain tho. I don’t know what I’ll do today.
Ted Turner has died. I just watched a tribute to him on CNN. He truly was a remarkable person, I didn’t know a lot about him and learned what an environmentalist he was. Learning about him, I understand why I trusted CNN a lot, and why CNN changed when he sold it to Time Warner.
Hope everyone has the best day possible.

I just knew he started CNN and it was the first 24 hour news channel. They thought at the time he was crazy. When he owned that channel it was more about real news, now all those 24 hour news networks are more political. He was the first to put real journalists in war zones.

I’m going to be another great great aunt, this one by adoption. This great niece had I think ovarian cancer, has a three year old and now can’t conceive. Apparently they are going to get a baby girl to be born in July. I know nothing else about it.
Good night my sweet Bella’s. Love to all. See you tomorrow.

Hello, ladies!! 🥰 I really enjoyed the pictures, Debbbie. 😍 It was nice to see little Korbid, doing well. The 2 little ones on the floor looked adorable, too. And you look so sweet when you smile. 🤗 Jo seems to stick to herself? Thank you for sharing. 😘 Julie, your flowers are beautiful. Who is Bruce? I can’t remember. I am praying for Judy and her family. 🙏 I have been trying to get caught up with things from when I had surgery in 2004. So many things didn’t get done. Exhausting. Been trying to follow Big Bear eagle… Read more »

Hi Karen I’ve missed you! Not seen much of you lately. You are trying to catch up on things 22 years ago? Really? Good grief. What kind of surgery was that one? How are you NOW?

Dang it! I do that all the time. I mean to say 2024, but I’m stuck back in the ages somehow. Now i am having to LMAO based on ur questions. !!!! 2004 is a very long time ago.
Debbie, I just can’t seem to move very fast anymore. I guess I’m getting old. What used to take me 20 minutes now takes me 2 hours.

I know, they switch without any warning but I suppose they switched to this nest now because they are on fledge watch

I don’ t think they showed us her nest when she laid her eggs, it just all of a sudden popped on our screen one day with like week-old babies in it, but they are saying today is the first day of fledge watch for them
