Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. What a heartbreaking story. It amazes me such cruelty is allowed to happen. And this facility was LICENSED! I pray these dogs eventually can find loving homes. Thank you for sharing Becki.

Oh Becki that’s so good to hear, they have made it all over the country. The thing with Ridglan Farms is the have to be shut down July1st and there are dogs that were rescued that are going to have puppy’s. I want to know why they kept on breeding the dogs? If they have to close in a month? to let the dogs get pregnant is so cruel to the rescues and fosters plus the dogs. Hi Becki. 🤗 The rescue facility in Fort Collins Colorado has also received some of these dogs. Evidently they have been receiving them for years frrom that Wisconsin facility. I don’t know all the details. But I am wondering — When will these greedy people who use dogs evaporate!!??
I just saw on their youtube page Lily’s chicks were sent to a rehab because of mites and they are doing fine, I was wondering why they hadn’t switched over to her nest
So they were not fledged?
no, they were like a week or so younger than April’s babies
Next season I’m going to take better notes! I guess that is why they switched nests on us unexpectedly.

Oh goodness, glad to hear they are doing ok😘 there was a mite problem before but the nest was on a pine tree. Lily’s tree isn’t real?
