Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I see ibuprofen in his near future, taken with yogurt or ice cream 🙏 That was actually pretty quick, heck it takes me that long just to get to my dentist 😄

Well he’s not even sure if he’s having two or three new crowns I tell ya I knew I was having three I don’t know why he doesn’t. But anyway I was there for a good two hours or more and he worked on somebody in between while he left me sitting in the chair for 45 minutes at a time while my Novocaine was taking hold. Anyway he told Rick he was gonna bang him out today I think he fit him in LOL

Did they do the preliminary work for the new crowns today? What was the reason for his pain? Needing new crowns does not necessarily lead to pain, neither does having them replaced. In the last few years I had a root canal and I can’t remember exactly how many new and replacement crowns I had. I think 3 replacements and 2 brand new ones. I do know I have 5 crowns all together. None of this dental work caused me enough pain to think about medicine. I mostly just had trauma pain from gum line irritation, needle sticks in the… Read more »

If I had to guess he had a crack in a crown that led to infection or enough decay to cause pain.

Hello…getting here late today…it’s a nice day, will be 70…I want to go for a couple dog walks and sit on my porch, not sure what else. I suggested going somewhere with DH but he might be too busy. I had chicken and biscuits from the grocery deli for lunch. Almost time to feed the dogs..

Good morning! well it looks like I missed Debbie She’s already on the road for the day. I walked again at 5:00 and then I decided to wash the last bedroom window inside and out. I still have to wipe down the blinds but that can wait till another day But I am done with the windows. Then I gave myself a manicure. Rick went to the dentist for two or three new crowns he doesn’t even know can you believe that? They are old and being replaced so hopefully his pain will be gone. Did some laundry and I… Read more »

This morning when I stepped out front there were 11 new cactus blooms And then to my surprise when I went out to the backyard to feed the birds I saw another cactus that had 13 blooms. They are so pretty but it’s too bad they only last one day

From Badger Land Birding= a African Marabou Stork is on the run in Wisconsin, its thought to be from a Indiana Zoo and has been on the run for 3 years. They are trying to capture it. They are huge birds

cool story, apparently it has been on the loose since 2023 so survival doesn’t seem to be an issue for it

It is surviving somehow, they are a foraging bird like a vulture they eat dead things. I was just thinking about our winters? Africa does get cold so it getting cold weather here would be doable. I’m happy its free

yeah I’m familiar with them from when I used to watch safari here on SPO…I think it’s funny where they say they think it’s the same one from 2023 because of the leg bands, not likely there are going be too many of those birds on the loose 😄
