Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I just saw my first hummer at the dirty water. 😆. Jo got up and got the new water that was already in the feeder ready to hang! I hope the hummer didn’t get much of the old, he wasn’t there long.

Good Morning Bellas, I’m getting so many scam calls its such a pita, I talked to my brother and Mom yesterday so good to talk to them I miss them so much, they went to see my Dad yesterday, Dad is doing just OK they have him on a new medication from the neurologist it makes him really sleepy, groggy is what my Mom said… she doesn’t like it. Good morning Julie. I hope the new medicine helps your Dad. A lot of times some of the side affects improve after the body gets adjusted to the medicine. I hope that is the case for your Dad. I know it was a joy for your Dad to listen to the game with Gery. There are apps to help identify bird sounds. But using the binoculars and trying to find the bird is more fun! that’s nice that your DB and dad listened to the game. I never answer scam calls…mostly I text anyway…I have the Merlin bird ID app, it’s free and I love it. But it’s also fun to look in a book.
I think the Merlin bird app is so cool but I like birding old school, hear the song then look for where its coming from use binoculars to look at bird then look it up in my book-I enjoy looking the birds up, and then reading where its migrating from and where its flying too.To me that’s the most fun birding😍
I get it…I can never find/see them with binoculars if they are way up in a tree
For day time the stickers work great I agree, but the birds fly at night and go towards lights, so an outdoor light can be very distracting for them so closing blinds pulling curtains just helps keep them safe, its for the migration that last around 2 weeks at the peak of their migration
So it doesn’t last long. I’ve never had an indication of a bird crash here, but Jo gets blinds and curtains closed as soon as it is dark.

Have a safe, fun trip Pam. I bet it would be possible to find something that helps with the car ride and sleep. But I guess you have turned over every rock. This trip will probably release extra adrenaline in your body, and the fun you will have will divert your attention from your body. That will help get you through the 30 hours, but bet you totally crash when you get home! Have a great trip.

Good morning…it’s a cloudy one here. Last night we went to Walmart for lots of stuff..for us and FIL..then ate at Arby’s…I got two chicken wraps and saved one for lunch today. Having a bit of extra coffee today…one of the caregivers brought a large McD’s coffee to DH this morning. Sometimes he gets a breakfast sandwich, too..not sure which one brings him those. McD’s has good coffee. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do today, have to check my list…bbl

It is rare for me to have coffee away from home, I only drink coffee in the mornings. But when we were making a lot of trips to Lexington and we had to leave pretty early, sometimes we would get a breakfast sandwich at McD’s and I’d get coffee. It is good.
If I go to breakfast sometimes I have coffee….I am usually coffee’d out by then
I seldom get out in the mornings unless it is a doctor’s or family thing or other good reason. I have been thinking about getting out earlier when Columbia has their Farmer’s Market. It is supposed to be a good farmer’s market, with true local stuff.

I’ve only seen photos but it looks to have a lot of vendors. I think someone sells small farmed, local meats. So,eone there is cooking some kind of food. I’ve just never been. I used to go to a market here but it fizzled out, the vendors went to Columbia. I think it takes a good Extension officer who puts the time and effort into promoting, growing, organizing.

Good morning Lynn I can spend a lot of time in Walmart sometimes. How was Arby’s wraps? Was the chicken coated or grilled? You always seem to find interesting things to do, I’m sure you will today.
the wraps are coated, don’t think they have grilled wraps there..I think Wendy’s does but we don’t go there often. I like Arby’s wraps.
I’m sure I would like them, I just try to limit carbs when I really like the grilled better. If I liked the fried better I might get it anyway.
I have gotten sandwiches in a lettuce wrap to limit carbs..only a few restaurants have those, though
I’m about to add some bad carbs occasionally. I want to live somewhat normally. I say “bad” carbs because every fruit and vegetable has some carbs. But those kind of carbs are very good for you and it takes a lot to be too many.
