Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Does anyone here rent/buy or whatever it is called now, current or newly released movies? We never see anything current, like movies that win at the Oscars. Used to, about 6 months after a movie came out in theatres, we would go places like Blockbuster to rent movies, come in and play them on the VCR. Then that went away, and we rented movies from Redbox and put them in a DVR player. Now that has gone away. I really don’t know how to find movies now to watch. New movies.

my sister and I give each other dvds as gifts for Christmas and birthday…ones that are on our lists or ones we think the other one will enjoy and we watch each other’s movies, too…only ones we are pretty sure we would want to watch and keep..also thrift shops here sell LOTS of them, you can buy them for really cheap and donate back if you don’t want them, old ones and newer ones.

Hi Karen. How are you? Can you rent movies there even if you don’t subscribe to their monthly service?

Karen Marie
May 23, 2026 7:22 pm
Reply to  KyDebbie

Doubtful. But i think that’s the only way these days. I think paying for the channel includes the cost of the movies. Some of them show more new releases than others, so if you got one or two it would probably give you a good selection. You would have to pay for each movie at a video store anyway.

The most basic HBO costs $10.99 a month and has ads. It doesn’t sound like movies. The prices that go up may have new movies. But I just want to rent an occasional movie, so maybe that doesn’t exist any more.

I dont think it works that way

KyDebbie
May 23, 2026 7:46 pm

Seems unfair to have to pay for the service then to have to pay for the movie but that may very well be how it is.

Disney +/ Hulu
Pea…cock has a few new ones

KyDebbie
May 23, 2026 7:34 pm

I know I don’t have any paid Pea……. No paid Hulu unless you can pay just for movies, not the cable type channels. If Disney + is a paid I don’t have it. Right now all I have is YouTube TV which is like your cable except it is streaming through WIFI. It is the only thing I pay for monthly. I have Roku but all you do is buy the little box, then it is free.

I don’t want to pay every month for some service that includes a lot of shows. I have my service that has plenty channels and shows. I just wanted to rent new, current movies that can be streamed. I’ll do some more googling. I think Amazon Video or Amazon Prime do maybe. There is a Tubo, Fubo or something.

Yep, I surf a lot of those movie channels. It takes a while, but you can come up with some good ones. Some of the channels that you don’t have to pay for offer a new movie for 3.95or 5.95, etc. But they are probably not a brand new blockbuster. I tried to find “Roots” the other day, and everywhere I found offered it for about $100. 🤯

Hello…today we went to get flowers and dog treats…I planted some, not quite finished and I might get more to put into pots. I got another hanging basket just because it was so pretty, the spotted petunias. My sister and I went to the little Mexican/ Chicago hot dog stand? or cafe, not sure what to call it, it’s really small ..we ate outside. She and my mom are visiting our aunt and uncle..we aren’t having a cookout because she hurt her knee…I feel like we could just have a smaller one but I guess? that is what was decided.… Read more »

Seems it wouldn’t matter if it was big or small, as long as your aunt was told not to bring anything and someone would fix her a plate, so she could just rest and talk to family.

We went and got gas, Jo had 80 cents off per gallon in fuel points. Paid a bill, had cottage cheese and peaches for lunch, washed some more dishes, baked me some fish, also baked some biscuits for Jo, watched one episode of Tracker. Ho hum.

No she doesn’t care for baked fish much. She eats the biscuits which I’m not eating now. She has a small piece of pork chop left and we both have plenty sides.

Howdy-do BellaFam 💖 What a morning! Washed sheets, refilled 2 weeks of vitamin boxes, dropped off a ton of recycling, got home and knocked a half gallon of water all over the floor. The mop got some of the water, but there was so much of it, i needed an entire roll of Bounty. I’m so sweaty, i need a shower and when i cool down, that’s where i’ll be headed. i was going to scramble some eggs and pour Chuck’s green chili over them — that’s not going to happen. These events are what frozen TV dinners were made… Read more »
