Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I’m having a do almost nothing day, its gotten hot outside so just doing laundry, went for a walk and will water things I just can’t go out in the sun and Jade wants to go outside and I won’t till the sun is going down and it starts cooling off. Our Falcon pair here has two chicks newly hatched I love their names😍we have had a nest box on top of the power plant for years now nat sure if its the original pair? I haven’t followed the nest box in a couple of years.

Its the 12th. year Trudy the female has come back to the nest box with a total of 63 chicks hatched WOW!!! they just said it on the news now I don’t have to look it up.Rain for Friday and Saturday and the Water Front festival is this week end and it always rains

I’ve been on the phone with Nancy then took a shower. For several months Nancy has been part of a study for macular degeneration. She has/had the dry type. Yesterday morning Nancy’s eye felt strange and she couldn’t see out of it. The Retina specialist said she had gone from dry to wet MD. That is what happened. So he put a shot in her eye meant for the wet. He did tell her they are making a lot of new progress in wet MD. Nancy is on the lowest dose of Wegovy, her doctor won’t give her a higher… Read more »

Yes, there is a dry form and a wet form of AMD. The wet means blood vessels are leaking or burst and is worse than dry.
