Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Been working on fan #3. These fans are so cumbersome to clean. I am going to be very bad tonight. Jo is going to Columbia and bringing home supper from a good, home cooking place over there. She said she didn’t want to go over there for just one meal, that I had lost enough weight, and I was even looking sickly. Well I don’t think I’m sickly but the doc doesn’t want me to loose any more, and I’ve probably lost 2-3 pounds since I saw the doc. So I looked at the menu. Decided on turkey/dressing, green beans,… Read more »
Your dinner sounds really good except for okra. Not a favorite or mine. I know you eat a lot of kale and I don’t care for that either but I really like spinach.
sounds delicious.
Thanks Becki. I do like a lot of veggies. I like okra but want it not fried because the bread soaks up the oil. I usually cook the fresh, unbreaded whole kind, and I spritz with oil and roast or air fry it. That takes away the slime and browns it a little. They were out of okra which I guess it is good because it is fried. Jo substituted a veggie I think that should be low calorie. I think it is a broccoli, cauliflower, carrot mix but haven’t looked yet. So I’m better on the diet part of… Read more »
The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts now has that EXACT name.
Hello…went to farmer’s market and pride and I’m tired. Bought chex mix, lemon shakeup, got lots of freebies, bought a $5 surprise bag (goes towards the wildlife sanctuary), saw several people I know and chatted…and everyone loved Bane 😍
Sounds like a lot of fun Lynn. And freebies too! Win win.
should say pride fest
What was in your surprise bag?
I tell you the Plums I got at Aldes are so good😋
I’ll remember that. I’m going to Somerset next Friday.
Our neighbor did break her ankle, had surgery which involved plates, is still in the hospital in Somerset and will go to rehab.
Oh no that’s to bad but they were able to put her back together. Poor woman, I wish her the best with her healing😘
It was her daughter Jo talked to and she also gave us info about the vet. It was a different practice than we thought. She broke the ankle in 2 places.
Does her daughter live there too?
Not with her Mom but not too far away. Jo told her she could go over to the house to check on things if she wanted.
Julie: Jade in window
She was catching the breeze coming in the window, she just jumped up and went and laid down I had me coffee on the window sill she almost knocked it over🙄
You gotta watch where things are set!
She moves so fast, I was just reaching for my cup and boom she jumped up. When she’s at my feet and comes up she usually wants a brush but today she changed her signals😂
😂
Going to make some eggs and toast bbl
