Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Lynn I hope you don’t have any trouble with storms. I think maybe the worst is over?
no storms here, just rain
Good.
Karen how was your day?
It was okay, ty. I cleaned various things, to include kitchen chair cushions, bed sheets and blankets, and then took a break for the rest of the day. I was not motivated to begin with, so I did really well. 😁 Then I watched YouTube videos, played with the baby, and cleaned a little more in the kitchen. Done for the day. How about you?
I know I responded to this! I said I finished the last fan, but that was just a little. Washed some clothes and bed sheets, that is about all. I must have forgotten to post, or maybe I wrote it in the wrong place.
I’m in the clear now I’ going back and laying down, everything is moving to the south east-still having spinup tornados. Wasn’t bad here because it just clipped us lots of lightning and thunder so good night sweeties😘
Goognight, Julie. Glad you are safe. ❤️
Good night Julie. You can rest easy now, don’t forget to eat. Thanks for letting us know.

Hello . . . It is hot!!! But it has cooled a bit. It’s 93 now. I am melting. Praying for rain. 🙏🙏
Excited to see the Obama library opening ceremony tmrw. Stevie Wonder will also perform. CBS seems to be following everything. Maybe they will have some coverage of the opening. Otherwise, all I see is coverage on this or that podcast. Just saw 10am on CNN. Thanks Debbie. Julie, I hope your weather isn’t too bad. 🤢 Cooking a tuna casserole.
Hi Karen, you are hot! If you melt I hope you are like Frosty and come back to life. The world needs Karen. Do you not get CNN? I would love to have some of that casserole.
I sure don’t feel like I will un-melt, but . . . But I guess I will. 🤔 I do get CNN, and I am looking forward to watching the Library ceremony. I saw an interesting video today on the Kakapo parrot in New Zealand. The amazing, only flightless parrot.
Unusual. I didn’t know there was a flightless parrot.
Yep, just one. Almost went extinct.
Oh that is too bad. It takes two to tango.
Yes, there was a time in New Zealand, where they only had males. Scientists had to go to another Island somewhere in the world, I can’t remember where, and they found just a few females. They brought them to join the males, and then things started happening, but then they had off and on problems. It took many years before they could get the species to multiply. Supposedly, there is nowhere other than this video, that we can see them on film. We actually have to go there to see them. I’ll be checking that out.
Thank you.
They have very strong feet and legs. I think they said they crawl up the trees.
That is strange. Seems it would be hard to escape predators.
I’m going to lay down for a bit
Rest well
Get some rest, hope you ate something. `
