Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning Bella Buds. We are 80 already, 66% humidity. Awww the tv just had a cute story. A kitten trapped under the hood of a car at a dealership. Out came the mechanics crawling under the vehicle and getting it out, and an employee “dog person” was smitten Ed over the kitten and adopted it. It was tiny, about a pound, so cute. I have a Kroger pickup at noon, need to wash my hummer feeders to have them on standby. Yesterday I packed up the last of my too big clothes. I do have some winter things still… Read more »

I didn’t make a big order it shouldn’t be to hard. I mostly wanted to order the sale items. We did similarly with a kitten that rode 2 hours to Lexington under our hood in very hot weather. Jo opened the hood and it was able to jump out, but so disoriented it crashed into a glass door at the business.

It had a happy ending. We took the kitten inside and Jo wet it. Or was it an employee? Anyway an employee adopted it, said she would put it with the barn cats. I’ve always wondered if she might have kept it in the house since it was so young.

Look good to me. I may scramble some eggs for lunch, but I must have fresh sliced tomatoes with them. It is a requirement. 😄

Do you flip them? if you do I think they look great. I just add a little water to the pan put a lid on it and steam cook the top of the egg because if I flip them I break the yoke🙄 then its a mess

If I fry an egg I break the yolk on purpose, but I wait until they are set some.

I like to dunk toast into the yoke so I don’t try to break it

Good morning! We had a pretty good monsoon storm last night but we didn’t have any damage. Luckily some parts of town not too far away, more without power and had trees uprooted. It was a very pretty walk this morning except for the fact that I ran into javelina’s which scared the crap out of me and I made croutons this morning

Good morning Ardy. Oh those croutons look good. I love them on a tossed garden salad.
‘Oh dear I’m glad your javelin encounter ended well and I assume you didn’t literally crap! 😄. I know they can be dangerous. Also good y’all didn’t have storm damage. We have rain in the forecast for the next 10 days of varying possibility. I hope our neighboring county in the severe drought gets a lot of rain. Their water supply is getting close to drying out and they have a lot of restrictions.

Javalinas are not that agressive towards humans its the wild hogs you need to worry about they will attack

They were spraying down the horses once in the morning then at night to cool them down and with 6 horses and a donkey it would take a long time to do it, now they can get them cooled down all at once😍
