Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hello..just popping in…I’ve been so busy but did manage to read the chat…still busy, actually…petsitting, taking care of my house and pets, and my sister is here…also trying to see my neighbors before they leave..just found out they are moving and I”m SOO sad!! I’m in love with their little girl and baby boy and we are neighbor friends…if I’d known I would have tried harder to see them, even though I was petsitting but just found out. They will still be in town but I know how things change, sadly..anyway, don’t want to say more, just too sad for… Read more »

Oh Lynn, I’m sorry you are loosing your neighbors. It happened to us. We were a little bit friends with the people across the fron road, then a fried across the side road, then friends down the road, then a friend on the other side. All left, one to a nursing home with dementia. Now we only have occasional phone contacts with two neighbors still here.
im glad your sister is here, maybe she will help you feel better.

Lynn, so sorry you’re losing good neighbors. I know what a blessing they can be {{HUGS}} . I have a friend who’s neighbors are so terrible, she had to take them to court to get them to stop harassing her 😢

Gracie the Giraffe has been found! Two weeks after her escape, the owners of the ranch where she lives are putting a veterinarian team together to bring the little escape artist home. 🐾

I wonder how this giraffe got to the US? But I’m glad she has been found. Maybe she has learned the grass is greener at home! I also wonder how it took 2 weeks to find such a tall animal. It must be a very remote area.

Texas is where her ranch is located, i think she might be a rescue of some kind. I don’t know the whole story.
