Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. My Dad was a roofer, one of the hottest jobs out there. He worked on roofs, most of which were in the sun. He especially hated to put on dark roofs in the hot weather. He wore long sleeves in the hottest weather. I asked him why. He said he would sweat, get wet, and actually felt cooler with the sleeves. I have been in the car, wearing shorts, while Jo was in a store. The sun would be shining on my thigh and get very hot. I would put a towel there and it would feel better.

All the talk about fires and there was one where my parents are buried last night!
TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Tucson Fire responded to a brush fire at Evergreen Cemetery this evening.
Crews were dispatched to the scene at 7:48 p.m. Engine 8 arrived six minutes later and found a large brush fire involving a rubbish wood pile on the property.
Firefighters deployed 1,600 feet of hose to attack the flames. They requested a backhoe to help put out the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation
OMG Ardyth, when things have been dry for so long fires start so easy, it doesn’t take much to star it. Sometimes it can be things like crystal figurines or glass that can make a focal point like a magnifying glass these things have been known to start fires, I hope there wasn’t a lot of damage💖
It was in the back where its a big dirt lot…thank goodness.

Don’t know if any of you are watching or checking out the world cup but it is tied after regular and OT so they are going to shootouts. I wish a game wouldn’t have to end in a shootout.
