Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Okay girls. I was just talking to Rick about the fruit from the palm trees. Rick said it’s called seed pods and they drop in the ground and this is what grows. Rick said he’ll have to take appliers to pull them all out

Colorado is burning up! Pam, you are closer than me right now. 😰 I hope u don’t have to evacuate. I am praying hard. 🙏 Never seen it this bad before. There must be 8 fires now. North, South, all over the place — not like one spread, they’re mostly separate. We are a tinder box right now. 😢😟

Oh how sad, Pam. How long did you live there? Areas around Pueblo seem to be getting hit hard. The wind is not helping either. I have family in Walsenburg and Trinidad. Been checking on them.

We were there 4 1/2 years. All those farms; if those fires reach that, they’ll lose everything.

What exactly is “Mesa”. Is it an area or a town or a type of terrain. I saw the word associated with Pueblo but couldn’t figure out if it is a part of Pueblo or a separate thing. I think I also saw there is a Pueblo County.

Can’t help but think about all the water drowning those poor people in Kentucky and no way to get the water here to contain the fires. We’re supposed to be reasonably intelligent humans, why can’t a water pipeline be installed the same way oil pipelines are? 😠

Theres not enough water to do that unfortunately, places in Kentucky were in bad drought-its the amount of water that fell on hard baked ground and it runs off and over welms the rivers
