Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hooray! Sandy maneuvered to a rock and was fed by a parent, soon after Luna was fed by a parent on his fledge tree. (approx 1630 hours.) The rock looks like it’s right next to a branch on Sandy’s tree, somehow. So happy they’re both able to eat. Now if I can just see them both fly again, I will be happy. ❤️
Excellent news! 🦅🦅
Oh yes, thank you, Pam. Really needed a little good news today. I hope you ejoyed your supper. 🤗
Now your turn Pam. Praying and hoping all is well.
Oh that is wonderful news Karen. Thanks for finding out for us.
You’re welcome, Debbie! So happy to get the news!!!
🥰♥️
I have been out a couple of times looking for the moon the strawberry Moon. They said it would be out at 7:30 and it’s 8:00 and it’s not and I am so tired but my moonflowers have bloomed and they are so pretty.
…..
They look like morning glories! Except they are all white! So beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 🤩
They are so pretty and delicate looking.
They are so pretty. Now do they only bloom once?
yes ans wilt in the morning sun
News from Big Bear. Luna (the male eaglet), stayed awake and vocal in the nest all night, last night. The two eaglets were close. During mid-morning, he fledged to go look for his sister, Sandy. He landed at the top of a nearby tree where one of his parents was perched, a couple of branches down. A Cam Ops person located Sandy this afternoon, they say in the nest tree, i believe, a few branches below the nest. I still think I saw her fly away from the nest tree when she fledged, but I’m a novice. Either way, she… Read more »
I really think she is in another tree, that is what I read. But the main thing is they say she is OK.
I saw her, and she is stuck. I saw half of her body on one side of a bunch of branches, and then her little head on the other side, and she’s not moving other than just to turn her head. Hoping parents can get food to her.
Do you think she is just scared?
I’m guessing she was. Or maybe just had to learn to move her feet out of it. She didn’t move at all for so long, except turning her head.
I wonder if she has eaten today.
I heard and somewhat saw that a parent(s) fed both of them.
That is good.
Poor thing. She is probably afraid if she moves she will fall.
I bet that could have been the problem.
Oh I sure hope she’s not stuck
She’s not — i just saw a video. Whew! Sure looked stuck. She hadn’t moved in over 24 hours.
Ardy you are up late for you. Too hot to sleep?
Roger and Michi trying to stay cool!!! Lots of moon flowers will bloom tonight.
Smart babies!! The flowers will be beautiful, blooming in unison.
They look like they are feeling no pain. Pretty flowers.
They r hot
I figured that but seems they are dealing with it. Is it not cooler in the house?
8:30 and its 87 outside I’m so not used to this…
We are 87 inside and 82 outside.
Is your AC broken.
Nope. We just wanted to have windows open and as long as we got the fan going we are ok. The fans are high velocity and they make you feel cooler than you would think. I really don’t know why it is this warm in the house. It could be we are not getting any breeze coming from the outside inside.
How is that possible? Must have transposed. Either way, too hot for the hour.
I don’t know. I think the outside air isn’t moving inside.
That is really weird, Debbie. 🤔
Here is proof taken just now.
Debbie, I don’t want to respond to an old post at this point, but I wanted to let you know I think that’s great about your eye appointment. Such good news! Slap them sunglasses on, buckle up, and go cruisin’ wherever you want! 😅
😄. Thanks Karen. Coincidence. They were talking a little while ago about cruising on Route 66.
Now that would be a nice drive.!!
It would. I don’t think I’ve ever been on any of that highway.
My family went back and forth from here to Alabama on it every year from 62 to 71. It was so beautiful. The interstates don’t do anything for the scenery. Sometimes I get on the internet and request a drive on Route 66, and I get several selections to choose from. Not as good as before, but still worth “driving” in spots. 😆
I never thought you could do that but makes sense. Do you just google that or have an app?
Hi Julie. We are 85 but feels like 96. UGH
Welcome to AZ…………..645 AND 98 °
Miserable everywhere. 🥴
🤣😂
Yikes
Very much UGH, Julie. Sticky, sticky. How does Jade like it?
Need to fix something to eat.
I cooked some pasta going to dump a jar of Vodka tomato sauce in it and call it dinner. Heats making me sleepy. Best wishes for safety and no evacuations needed tonight and that-those winds die down so they can at least fight these fires
Good night Julie enjoy your pasta, keep cool. Love.
I have always wanted to try vodka sauce…..I have to stay awake til 730 to see the moon rising
Spiked spaghetti for supper. Good sleeping food, I bet. I’ll check the moon. Thinking good thoughts with you, Julie. Kiss Jade – both of you stay cool. 😘😍
