Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I finished watching the Espys. It really is a good show. So many inspirational awards. I always get choked up when I see Pat Tillman. I did when he died.

Hi Debbie ♥ Wish i’d remembered they were on😟 my fault. I lived in Phoenix when Pat Tillman was killed; it was terrible, for a long time. He was a good man; such a waste. 💔

I just can’t imagine a man, doing so many’s dream job, making literally millions, giving it all up to join the military………then dying. There are a lot of patriotic people that join the service, but many are also motivated by making a better life in the service. Tillman had just about the perfect life already.

Pam did you see they are repeating the Espy’s on ESPN? Usually it is off peak times when there really isn’t anything live in sports. Tonight I saw it was repeating at 3 AM central time. Set it to tape.

I think the response is rude………this was on our next-door neighbor Hello I moved here from kentucky. Im not sure what has brought me here but I am on a journey to find out. I want to find a church and a community that brings me joy and comfort. And one person responded with this rude comment, many others welcomed her and recommended a church. Good luck. But, being from the South, I am not sure Tucson, AZ is where you want to be. There are too many rude people here who think it is hilarious to mock the southern… Read more »

It is rude but I do understand it a bit. In our RVING club there was a lady that liked to tease us about our accents. But she took it to far. She mocked how Jo pronounced “fire”. And talked about our accent being bad enough that “I don’t know if we can be friends”. Others may have teased, but she was out of line. This lady might have had a similar experience. But yes she was equally rude. I could have said something back to this lady about HER accent, but I just smiled. The rude lady should return… Read more »

That person made a comment, its hard to tell with a the post, like what does she mean? she was mocking people from Arizona it could be taken 2 ways. Maybe she is from the south too and is speaking from exsperience? the only way to know is ask her

I’m with Julie, I always considered Arizona to be the south, I didn’t know being from the south took on a different meaning. live and learn, lol… I’m sure people from the Southern states would think I have a weird accent, in fact I know they do bc there are jokes about it, but it doesn’t bother me, I think they’re funny…but to respond to the purpose of the post the person could have been more welcoming

Arizona is in the South but it has never been called “the south” to my knowledge it is always referred to as the S W. In no way am I saying anything negative about living in the South, don’t get me wrong I should’ve never posted this and I knew that in the first place so I’m sorry I did. Are you saying that you have a weird accent? But yes to respond to the purpose of the post the person could have been more welcoming that was my whole point. It is. The throat area is very dangerous. A famous and top tennis player was mad at himself for a mistake he mad and out of anger hit a ball backwards out of anger. He didn’t look behind him when he hit it. It hit the line judge in the throat and she went down. He was very sorry, rushed to her side. She was okay, got up and to my knowledge was fine even though I’m sure it was painful. This was one of the major tournaments and the player was on track to win the whole thing. Prize… Read more »
