Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Chuck’s home; he got Rick a hamburger from the hospital deli, 5 candy bars. & a fruit bowl. Rick is using his left hand to raise his right hand & naturally, he’s angry about it — it’s only been 3 days. I know OT/PT will go a long way towards him getting some of the use back.

Pam, its wonderful he’s home, being in familiar spouroundings will help his recovery, can he make a fist with his right hand? a excersize ball would be good for him to squeeze, PT probably will have him do that. Just tell him it takes time for the brain to heal💖

Is the rehab he is in part of the hospital, or its own entity? I know it is across the street but it can still be part of the hospital.

I think it’s part of the hospital; the advocate always says “We have” about it

We have an outpatient rehab that is part of the hospital and is a few blocks from the hospital.

Maybe Rick can channel that anger into FIGHT. Have they started real therapy yet? You know, the count your repetitions kind of stuff.

I’m refreshing my hair, then take a shower and might walk to the memorial sight to say a prayer and bring some side walk chalk for people to use😘

Like Debbie, i’ve been busy. Chuck left around 8.30a for Pueblo; i gave him money to get some chocolate for Rick; he likes choc better than i do 🙄 That should help perk him up. He’s going to help him use the phone, if Rick feels up to it. Both Kitty and Mary have calling but he doesn’t answer. His Advocate gave Chuck her personal cell# so we don’t have to go thru the switchboard to find her. 😘 It’s so weird having the kitchen to myself; i cooked shrimp, made Ranch dressing – i like to dip shrimp in… Read more »

Hi Pam, did Rick have any trouble using his phone before the stroke? So nice of the advocate to give him her personal number, that is a dedicated person. Who is Mary? I know you are enjoying having the kitchen to yourself. I hope you get good news about Rick. Safe travels for Chuck.
We can really relate to that toon! 😁.

Thanks Debbie ♥
Mary is his ex-wife and best friend; she went to school with Kitty and is her BFF. She’s been in our family for 50 years. 💗 Until Tuesday, Rick took care of himself; making dr appts, cooking/cleaning up, laundry.

I’ve been busy. First I was on the phone with a bank on and off for 40 minutes. Then I had to do for Casey. Then Nancy called. Then I went right down the road and bought tomatoes from a lady, that only took about 10 minutes. They are probably the first truly real homegrown tomatoes I have had. I’ve come to the conclusion that even tho the farm grows the tomatoes right there, they are really a commercial tomato made to be able to ship. These I just got are real homegrown made for your own family to eat,… Read more »

I was wondering what happened to you? you know you can get a big pot or a couple of them put dirt in them and tomato plants and you could raise tomatoes like I do and grow your own😋

Yea, if I don’t over water and cause blight.

Over watering doesn’t cause blight- a lot of times the spores are in the soil and when you water the water can splash the spores onto the plant. Just have to buy pasteurized soil
