Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I am going to get some much needed beauty sleep. I got up early today and it’s been hot all day, which makes me wilt. It was overcast all day, off and on, but not a drop of rain, snow, hail, sleet, or any moisture at all. I would be happy with just about anything at this point. Anyway, I hope you all sleep good tonight and have a good morning. Hopefully I can get up early again. Nite-nite. 💕🌺

Hello! DH grilled hamburgers tonight and we ate on the porch but…pretty miserable out, 88% humidity…will be hotter tomorrow.
I decided to skip my little evening walk that I’ve been doing lately…going to read until I get tired.

forgot to say we took Bane to the next town where they have a vendor market on weekends..I bought a clip, called a claw clip for my hair, light blue…thought my hair would be too thick but it works, yay! Now I can keep it up and it’s cooler than a pony tail to me.
Also, got ice cream on the way home..I got a strawberry shake, DH got a cherry pie flurry and of course Bane got a pup cup!

Great to cook outside in hot weather. I can’t even look at my stove/oven when it’s hot outside. Homemade burgers are so good. I might do that one night this week. And of course ice cream on a hot night. Sounds like you guys had a nice time, Lynn. Enjoy your book and sleep well. 💤 🤗

It got to 108F today 🔥🔥 Back from the hospital; Rick’s doing a LOT better, he’s at about 80% of what he was prior to the nightmare that was last Tuesday. I got him a box of Russell Stover chocolates; candy bars were too difficult for him to rip open; this is much easier. He’s scheduled for surgery at noon tomo; a Carotid Endarterectomy; get that nasty plaque out of there. Insurance approval has come thru for OT/PT following the surgery. We are moving forward. What a day! Must be naptime 😉 Thank you all so much for your continued prayers;… Read more »

PAM! Great news! We needed good news. I’m so happy, 80% this early is wonderful, it is not even a week yet. With therapy he should just about get to 100% of pre-stroke. It is ok good they know what to do to prevent it. will the surgery just be on one side? That is probably the same surgery my bro-in-law had and, as surgeries go, not too bad. Will PT/OT be inpatient, outpatient or home health?
That candy was my Mom’s fav. I bought many box of the brown ribbon for her.

That is good. He may still qualify afterwards for one of the other after inpatient.

Such good news, Pam! I didn’t know they could remove plaque! Great advancement. I’m so glad Ricck is doing so well. I bet he will feel so much better than before, once he does what he needs to and gets back home. *Thank you, God*. 🙏🙏
