Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

🐱 International Cat Day 🐱 Chuck found water on the floor by the inside A/C unit around 5.30p yesterday; He put towels down to absorb it. Called the A/C guy at 6p, told him about the water & he said to shut it off. Waited til the sun went down; the house faces west; and it really gets hot in here. By 8.30p outside temps dropped to 88 from 100; then we shut it off. Some inside pipe that conduits cool air onto the coil was completely plugged with debris & no i don’t know how, we change filters about… Read more »

You change filters in your AC every two weeks? We could not afford to do that at $163 a filter.

That is a lot of for a filter.

Well they’re not cheap anymore that’s for sure. But we only need to change it every season.

Do you need to change yours every two weeks? That seems often? We only need to change ours every season. It’s just for the air conditioner. We don’t run that in the winter. I’m just curious

I don’t think Chuck changes it as often in the winter because it doesn’t run as much as in summer and maybe it’s only once a month. i’m not sure; that’s his bailiwick

I do tell Rick he needs to check it and maybe brush the dust off that forms.

Pam: I have to shake out my window a/c filters every 2 weeks. The main furnace in the basement needs a new filter every month or two. Here’s why we have to clean or replace filters so often in Colorado: —– Frequent seasonal dust storms kick up massive amounts of soil, pollen, and dry debris into the air. Combined with arid conditions and heavy winter heating cycles, these local environmental factors cause HVAC systems to pull in and trap airborne particles much faster. Low annual rainfall and loose topsoil mean wind easily picks up dust and dirt, pulling it right… Read more »

Good afternoon…just caught up on the chat but forgot to like, so just pretend I liked everything, lol…anyway…we went to the farmer’s market and bought tomatoes…then right next to it in the park, the children’s business fair..I bought a couple pretty handmade cards and some dog treats. After that to FIL’s house for a visit..then the grocery store for just a couple things and home. I’m tired, bug bites were really bothering me during the night, so going to take a short nap…music in the park tonight.

Hi Lynn 🤗 Busy day! The children’s business fair. What exactly is that? They didn’t have those when I was a kid, or an active mother. Enjoy the music tonight — sounds so nice . . . . 🌺

Report on my shots yesterday my arm doesn’t hurt at all and I didn’t feel the shots go in. The pharmacist gave me the shots high up on my arm and I do think that helped with the soreness? no side effects I feel great!!!!

So did GREAT. I’m so happy I almost cried a couple times. I walked the length of it, didnt hurry, talked to vendors, was still ok when I got in my car! There was still plenty stuff and I bought I think two naughty things too. I am in Walmarts parking lot hoping to see someone ride a scooter out. I certainly can’t walk Walmart. I haven’t read chat since I left, I will when I get home. Bye for now.

Good morning again. Well I ran my errands and I was home by 8:15. I went to Walmart first and did my return. And then I asked my lady friend at the door how to do a pickup. She said it was easy. Just go to the side of the building where it says pickup. They have their own parking lot pull in a space. I have a number in front of you to call. Tell him you’re here. What number you’re in and they’ll be out. It was easy. They will no longer have pickup inside the store like… Read more »

Ardyth you have to let me know how you like the bamoo cutting board never used one before. I stay away for wooden ones because they grow bacteria. Yummy Iced Chai, maybe I will go for a walk and get one today?

I saw what you found when you googled and then I found something else so I guess it just depends on who you talk to.
