Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. My post just went poof because they didnt like it so this is a shorter version…..we are going to the Farmers market down the road from us with Tom and Serena. They will stop by our house on there way, they live in Vail. There is a chile roast there today. Then we will go somewhere for lunch. You will have so much fun. That is a quick festival and at an unusual time. As festivals go.
They harvested the chilis its that time of year, to have a festival and reap the bounty so not unusual but normal for the type of festival it is-the end of the season
I guess a morning only festival of any kind is unusual for me.

But I bet it goes until the afternoon. It isn’t the start that was surprising but the end time.
Farmers markets are in the morning here and go till around noon, early day temps are better for the produce and there cooler temps for people to get out and go

The farmers markets are only in the mornings probably because of the heat so it’s really not unusual to have it at that time in Tucson

Yes it is a farmer’s market with a special twist. The farmer’s market I’ve been to recently is from 8-1 pm normally which is an hour later than most.
This is just a special occasion today at the farmers market, they have the farmers market every weekend Saturday and Sunday at two different places and on Sundays they have it just down the street at the racetrack where we go to buy my cowboy candy
