Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I love beef ribs and it has been many years since Rick has bought them for me. He outdid himself tonight. They were perfect!! We had twice baked potatoes and Caesar salad!
This was especially great since I could not eat the pork chops last night.

I have a very hard time swallowing white meat and these pork chops that he bought were at least an inch and a half thick. And they used a new recipe that I had suggested and when he took his first bite he said. I hope you can eat them. I said why are they dry and he said oh kind of anyway he ate his but I can’t swallow white meat. That’s dry. I’m sorry you have that trouble. Some foods I have to chew the heck out to swallow. I suppose before long I might need to have my esophagus stretched. I’ll be scoped soon and I’ll mention it to him. Got up to falling snow 🌨 stopped around 11a. Sunny & cold today; supposed to get down to 10 tonight.
Talked to my cousin about the pizza stone; she contacted the pampered chef/PC rep and i’ll get ahold of her tomo so i can get the stone replaced. i know Chuck’s looking forward to getting it. She’s in Michigan; it’s snowing like crazy; she was quite envious when i told her we had about 1 inch. 💚
Chuck made green chili; so i had green chili eggs today, he didn’t stint on those seeds 🥵

Hi Pam, it seems we only got a dusting of snow here today. But it is pretty cool. They are definitely getting it more in the upper Midwest and in the East. I hope Chuck gets the stone soon. 😊

It is cool there. It’s 24 here, supposed to be 35 tomorrow. Not very cold this year actually. How is it the little ones have a garage? Does the neighbor leave one open for them?
Yes, the folks across the road leave half the garage door open. They’re wonderful people. Their garage has the 2-door thing with a wall in between so the side NOT against the house can be left open

The garage i had in Denver had a side door; there was no access to the house, that i always left open in the winter with boxes padded with old towels. It’s how i ended up with one of my cats, Emily.

i gave all my mother’s jewelry to my sisters except for a pearl ring I gave Mom that conjures up a memory. It just sits in a drawer, no use to anyone really. But I suspect when I’m gone someone will find it and keep it. As for the rest I gave to my sisters, I took good pictures of the jewelry and those pictures are in an album on my iPad and phone, and that is good enough for me. I don’t think I will tell my sister if I sell my mom’s ring cuz she’ll probably have a fit but it’s just sitting in her jewelry box since she’s passed away in 2013. And when I die, there really isn’t any sense of me putting in the net with me because I’ve got a few other antique necklaces that are not worth anything to keep in there with me. I had a friend who had the same kind of situation. She took what jewelry she could of her mother’s and had the pieces made into something that would suit her. Just a thought.

I thought it was pretty cool too. I know she made a couple of rings out of a couple of necklaces, and I don’t remember what else she did.
A lot of women get engagement rings when they and their soon to be husband are young and don’t have much money. Then later in life finances improve and they get the stones reset into a nicer ring. So they preserved the original ring’s sentiment, just made it nicer.
Smart AND sentimental. I think that’s what I will do if I ever change up anything.
