Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good morning Bella Buds and Happy 2026. I was late to sleep last night, probably an hour or more late, but only about 15 minutes late getting up. So I’m pretty much on schedule. Got the Rose Bowl parade on, my favorite! And boy is it raining on their parade. I am sorry for that. But it is still beautiful. Enjoy the day.

I do notice you get up early! Do you do well on less than eight hours sleep? I’m so naughty🙂 i’ve been trying to do better! My sleep is off schedule again from sleeping late yesterday. I’d gotten a headache the night before and had trouble sleeping till late morning. I’m a little sleepy now but enjoying a show I’ve been binge watching. I have no plans today so I’m going to finish this episode then go to bed.
I go to bed very early and get 5-6 hours of sleep. I do well on it
Good morning Ardy. I don’t think I’d do well on 5-6 hours of sleep. But you may sleep sounder and with less interruptions so maybe the quality makes up for the quantity.
I don’t think my sleep pattern is good. I don’t like to tell people what time I get up because they think I’m nuts. I am nuts I guess but I’ve got myself used to going to bed early because I’m tired then and I wake up early and that’s my life
Trust me, your sleep schedule surely is less wacky than mine! I go to bed late hours usually but need at least right hours to feel rested once I do go to bed. We must have different batteries 🙂 Unless I have an appt. the next day, I stay up as long as I want. Probably both our sleep patterns aren’t textbook correct but what the heck! Our choice!
You get to choose! It works for you so it doesn’t matter. It would not work for me but that is ok. I think the most important thing with sleep is a consistent sleep pattern, and you do that!

Your post is so sweet🙂 I’m reminded of similar affection toward Julie. She was the first friend I made on SPO. I met her on the Wisconsin critter cam when Bird Lover and Albert and a few others regularly visited and the cam view and feeding area offered much more critter viewing. It was Julie who first suggested I check out the Olive cam.🙂 I’m glad I did.
