Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I try to make mine looser, a little more spikey but it kinda looked like me at first glance.

Had to clean the George Foreman; such a mess 😟 I put too much cheese in a not very successful attempt to make a cheese crisp. Then tried to crisp it up in the Foreman. There was cheese all over the place. What an idiot I am.

There really was cheese all over the place — Lordy! Five inches for us is a lot; didn’t get too cold tho’, still 29; probably get pretty nippy overnight.
Hopefully it will stay dry and sun.

It is sorta like a panini press. Nicer and more versatile.

George Foreman invented it, I guess. It just cooks faster I think because it cooks both sides at the same time.
my mom had one…..for burgers mostly
It heats both sides; great for cooking meat; especially hamburgers
I use the George all the time, but i fold/wrap the flour tortilla like a burrito; it keeps the cheese where it belongs!

Thanks, we have always done it that way unless I want a quick one i use the microwave and that doesnt take long, its not crispy but still very good.

Ardy I went to Ghostery to see if it was activated and it told me what to do, like manage extensions. I went to manage extensions really didn’t do anything. Now the little ghost is up in the field where .com’s all are. It wasn’t there before and now the ads are gone. Be sure your Ghostery is active. It has never had the ghost on that was where you see the web sites but it was an icon on my start page.
I have had ghostery for a long time and it has always worked. I went to extensions but didnt see anything I should do to it.
I just know I had those ads you did this morning and no little ghost. Now I have no ads and the little ghost.

Debbie, one of my squirrels got killed by a car sometime today. I came home from PT and errands and there it was on the street in front of the house next to me. So I know it’s one of my sweet ones.
Oh Lin that’s so sad-when I have a dead one I move it to the yard so something can eat it, like nature can use it and it then can feed nature complete its life cycle
I was so upset, feeling that it is my fault because some of them come from across the street to get walnuts I toss out. We get alot of traffic and those stupid speeders. I got it up and took it to a wooded area near a field and left it.
You did good Lin taking it to the woods😘 I swear it seems like drivers speed up to hit them, even racoons,opossums, cats if you slow down it has a chance of crossing
Makes me so upset that they just keep driving! With no care they ended a loving things life or that it might need help. I pray it is too early in the season for it to have had babies, of it was female.
I think it would be rare for one to not be killed outright.
No that isn’t true Lin, you did good to provide such good food for them. I doubt if squirrels live in just one yard. I don’t think I could have moved it, that had to be traumatic for you. Hugs for you sweetheart.
They are territorial and will invade another’s turf for food. Then they madly chase each other. I have a couple that come from across the street and some that come from out back and beyond
They don’t define yards I’m sure as we do. The squirrel could have considered your yard and the neighbors both as their turf. Like going from one part of their turf to another. You did nothing to cause this because you feed them.
I think I did but am dealing with it. I see very clearly that it is the food that draws them from their territories. The mark what they claim bybpeeing so I spray a special essential oil spray aroind the porch carpet to keep them off there.
NO YOU DIDN’T. They aren’t going to sit just in one location. I see dead squirrels where there are no houses.
Oh Lin I’m so sorry. Squirrels just run out in front of cars. I’ve had them to run in front of me but have time to get off the road, then turn around and run back in front of me. I always anticipate this and don’t progress until they go on.
Me too. I always drive carefully in the neighborhoods. We have alot of trees so lots of squirrels. Honestly, rhis is rhe fiest critter death I’ve seen in by my house.

I’m so sorry, Lin, bless it’s little heart and soul. 😥🙏 I have watched squirrels off and on over the years, as they steal all the pears off of my pear tree. 😊 I don’t use it anymore, so they can eat all they want. Our neighborhood is full of them. Squirrels and silly rabbits. They are so sweet.🙂 I’m truly sorry for your loss. Hugs 😥

Great you are almost back to normal. You were pretty sick there for awhile! I didn’t get any sweets from the store when I got groceries. But was naughty and bought a loaf of Italian bread. I love bread. The softer and whiter the better! Afterthe squirrel event. Needed soothing. I don’t drink. It’s food🙂
Lin, Oops! I was talking about your last shopping adventure when you said you got some healthy foods. Regarding your squirrel, mine get food in my yard with the tree, yet they still leave my yard and go across the street to the neighbor’s yard and feed there. It’s going to happen no matter what you do. You just have to keep making them happy and enjoy them while you can. ❤️ My philosophy, anyway.
I’m working on it, thanks, Good philosophy Karen. i cleaned the mess off the street so it took time to move through that. A good night’s sleep helped and I feel better this morning. Today I’m going to continue taking stuff to the Goodwill. Trying to reduce the amount of knick knacks, etc. Sort of an early Spring cleaning🙂 Hope you have a good day today and feel even better!
