Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Yes the chipmuck is real. He also has one with a bee, another with a female cardinal and another he has what he calls Becorns in a boat paddling towards a mallard duck. Oh and one with another chipmuck with it’s head on top of the Becorn looking at the basket the Becorn is holding with seeds in it. All just so precious. How he was able to get these is unbelievable. 12″ of snow in my front yard! So beautiful! 23 deg and we’ll go to 13 tonight.
That is a lot of snow.
It is, but it is very soft and dry. The roads are fine. This snow won’t last very long, I bet. But it is so nice to finally get some. All through most of my life we have always gotten a major snowstorm around Halloween. Not lately though. ☃️❄️
