Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Yum on the taco truck dinner. Those trucks have the best food and at good prices. The hospital will probably give your dad a good checkup, maybe run some tests he has not had done in a while. So that is a win win. He will probably get physical therapy also, and maybe teach him a trick or two. He will miss his wife’s cooking.

Will they be trying to figure out why he fell and how to fix it? Or do you already know that?

Hello! Last night was SO windy, gusts up to 35-45 mph. Church was good. I went to WM. They are going to carry the economy bird seed anymore. They had it marked on sale… I always bought the 20 lb bag for $12 but the 40lb bags were on sale for $15 so I bought two. I had the man put them in my cart. But I had to lift them from the cart to my trunk. Rick didnt know how I did it because he had trouble lifting them. I did laundry. It is still cold and windy. I… Read more »

Hi Ardy, that is a great buy on the bird seed. Don’t go now, but when you actually open the bag look to see what the first two ingredients are. You really should ask at checkout if someone can load that seed in to your car for you. Don’t risk your back. Pretty butterfly.

You don’t need to know but I want to know. That is a great price.
I may want to get some. Come to think of it don’t worry about it. I can look on their site to see all about it.

I called the hospital because I couldn’t get a hold of her-she had just left there and is on her way back home. I did get to talk to my Dad for a short time-he’s pretty banged up and they are still keeping him for now. It was good to hear his voice😘

Oh I’m glad you got to talk to him. I’m sorry he is banged up. Just bruises or something else? I imagine there are some lacerations because I’m sure his skin is thin. It doesn’t take much. It is in his best interest they are keeping him. I bet tomorrow they will have occupational/physical therapy come in for a consult, get him up and walk him. They may have words of advice, suggestions, info, equipment to advise. They may have a social worker come in with info about community resources and services. So all of that could be a positive… Read more »
