Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Monarchs are easy because you can find the eggs and Carter pillars and they have one food sorce-milkweed, plus they are endangered with the loss of habitat. Painted Lady’s are not just in North America they are in Europe too

Happy Sunday! What’s left of it anyway. 🥰 I want to thank everyone for their well wishes, I am feeling so much better. I think I am almost well. I am blessed in having comrades like y’all wishing me well and encouraging me. 😘 I know it helps. I did not know about Gabi’s procedure. It is a complex procedure, but it is good to have one. Maybe they can figure out whatever is bothering her and fix it. I remember having one and it was a scary thing. I am praying for her with all of you. Julie, I… Read more »

Hi Karen🙂 Finally we are at on the same time🙂 I’ve been doing this and that around the house and given I’vecbeen up since 5 this morning, my steam may be running out. I’ve just sat down with a bowl of spaghetti for supper and thought I’d check in here. I am glad to hear you continue to feel better!! I wouldn’t wish the flu on my worst enemy. Well let me take that back. There are a few people residing in D. C… Catch my drift😄 Gabi will love your kind words. She is nervous about it.

Hi Lin, thank you, nice to see you finally. ☺️ I bet you are tired, getting up at 5 AM !! Nice productive day for you, though. The spaghetti meal should wrap it all up very nicely. Sounds really tasty right about now. I’m truly feeling better, finally. As far as the flu goes, I’ll send my D.C. wishes with yours. 😂 I know Gabi is nervous, I was too. The main thing is just to stay still, and everything will be fine. I thought about birds, butterflies, and the ocean during my procedure. It helped. I hope you got… Read more »

I think just one Cath but two heart ablations which are very much more. I was out for the first ablation at least 3 hours. Active on the table that long it doesn’t include recovery.

It is not bad to go thru. You can do just about everything the next day. I think there was a 2 week restriction of lifting more than 10 pounds. And you are not awake. It just seems more scary, they are zapping in your heart. But I think it is very safe.

Things are a bit messy as I am still pulling things out of drawers and cabinets, etc. I’m going room to room and getting rid of stuff. i love spaghetti, especially in Fall and Winter. It’s so warming in the tummy and soul😋 Yep, I think Gabi will do fine. The sedative will help relax her. I “go to the ocean” too when having a procedure. I literally bring up memories of walking a beach and I can smell the wet sand and hear the ocean. Really helps.

Thank you Debbie. It kind of feels like “everything’s coming of roses” for me at the moment. 🌸 This granddaughter and I were always very close while she was growing up, but her mom got carried away and took the kids away to Las Vegas years ago and told bad stories about the family. She has been on drugs for several years. Anyway, this now matue adult grandbaby has finally figured out what happened and wants to renew the relationship. Looking good so far. 🤗

Many tears. I had kids when I was young, and so did my daughter. Kayla is 32. I doubt my daughter and I will ever talk again, as she is still on drugs. Kayla is unable to talk to her any more either. The other grandchild, Brianna, is 30, and is still involved in the mire.

When we were at the cemetery for the words from our pastor for my mom a painted lady flew by us.

What does it mean to see a painted lady butterfly?

In many traditions, Painted Ladies are believed to carry messages from loved ones who have passed away, or to symbolize the soul itself.

My mother for a long time had these little butterflies in her living room on the wall, long before my Dad died. She went through several moves, and I would see the butterflies back up on the wall. Even when she wasn’t in the best of shape, there were the butterflies. After she died I told my sisters the only thing I wanted was those butterflies. They hang here and I see them as I type.
