Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Ardy has Rick’s sister in town, Karen has been here a good while, Julie went on a long walk early afternoon and ran errands. The called me about 4:30 when I was on the phone with Nancy. She had stopped at her bar on the way home. So now I’m wondering if she is home? Maybe came in and laid down to rest and fell asleep? I want to call her but I’m afraid of waking her.

Hi Lin! 🤗 I’m getting excited just thinking about your landscaping and gardening projects. I used to do that stuff, back in the day. 😊 I practically lived outside. I bet you have a beautiful yard! Nice that you were able to get all kinds of things accomplished. A good feeling. 😘 I hope you have a great night too. Enjoy your supper. 🙂

Hi.There you are. So quiet here tonight. I just wish I didn’t have such back problems and could do more of the physical work. But I just can’t. I used to do it alot too. Then my knees got so bad (I have osteoarthritis quite bad in varying joints and spine) so they had to be replaced. Then the back got bad. Anyway, I’m glad I can afford to hire otherwise I couldn’t have the big garden. I’m so excited to see see if I get Monarchs this year.I bet you are too!

Evidently. The bone surgeon told me that it’s a quick and easy thing — they just go in there and take the dead stuff out and give you new bones AND cartilage.

Gee that would be great if that easy. I’ve heard but this is from other veterans who just go to the VA that shoulder surgery is not easy rehab. The VA doesn’t always keep up with the most modern techniques though so maybe the procedure and rehab is easy!🙂

Going to be more renovations but then it will finally be done!! My fence guy and I agreed to wait till this year to replace my fence. So all the perennials that I planted along my fence, the landscape company will relocate and plant away from where new fence will be. Now that the beds have been combined into one huge bed, I have lots more room so can keep plants away from fence. That way as the fence needs repairs (it is wood) no plants will be trampled and there will be enough room for him to walk through… Read more »

Hi, Lynn. Reading sounds enjoyable. I have to be careful reading if I have been on my phone for a long time, reading posts or doing research. My eyes start getting blurry and then I can’t read for a while, until my eyes go back to normal. I’m making an eye appointment, but I’m thinking my eyes are just getting old. Just another one of “those things.”. Gotta have something going on in order to feel normal. 😁😱 What kind of reading have you been doing? Mystery? Food? Romance novel? 🤔

I have read different things depending on my age. When I was a young kid I read Nancy Drew and mysteries. Then as I got into my teenage years I started reading historical romantic fiction (smut novels 🤣). As an adult, I loved the Harry Potter books and I read all kinds of other stuff too. I think I read more fiction because I want to be entertained. If I want to know something about history, I just look on the internet. Lazy.

Sounds like the errands are for your husband. You want me to send a box of firecrackers for you to light under his butt? No, that would scare Dutchess, it isn’t her fault. How about an electric cattle prod. Maybe that would work. What are you having for supper?

😅😂 Although I laughed at the thought of firecrackers and had a few visions, the cattle prod sounds great. 😁 And I could use it all the time, not just when we have to run his errands. Yum, sounds good. We are both having chicken. Yes I’m having Kale too. I always want one low cal veggie. Casey and I will eat on the sweet potato 2-3 nights, it is good sized. Even though they are really healthy, they still have more calories than a lot of veggies. So I eat a little of the high cal stuff, a lot of the low.

Hi Debbie. 🤗 I want to like those little potatoes. They look so tasty, but I just can’t taste them at all. And I find them a little tough.
