Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good morning…funny that my post was the last and now the first. It’s -2 and feels like is -12…most schools around us are closed, don’t know why they aren’t in our town…they should do e-learning like one day last week. It’s too cold to be out waiting for busses. I’ll do some laundry today, not sure what else. Going to make some more coffee or maybe tea, tastes so good when it’s cold out.

Good evening…we went to the grocery store and then the new restaurant…it was good and we got free shakes because there was a problem with our order and we waited quite awhile. I think we had about 2 inches here, 1 inch at FIL’s on the other side of town, more at DH’s rentals..and my sister said they got about 9 inches. It’s sooo cold here, my face was freezing in the parking lots. After I feed the dogs, going to read.
Hi Lynn what kind of food does the new restaurant have? I didn’t know FIL’s house was that far from you. Your sister got a lot of snow. Seems with this storm everywhere the maps are striated. Long bands with varying types of weather.
Hi Debbie, it’s a chicken place. FIL’s house is only about 10 minutes away but that is what DH told me…I believe it because sometimes there is rain here and not there or at DH’s work, or the opposite.

I understand…I worry sometimes about the dining room windows..also just having pets is more of a worry. I remember how cold it was in here when we lost power…I/we just stayed put because of our pets and did the best we could…used every blanket/throw we had and dressed in layers, wore winter coats, etc.
We have so much snow, havent seen that in many many years. And still snowing more…..
DH didnt and couldnt go to work. Oh my. Hope your power is ok.

Julie remember the marina we took you and Judy to see? Part of it collapsed due to ice weight. It was on Lexington news.

Couldn’t find it, there was a Little Rock marina, that had a collapes on some boats and house boats some people were on the house boats they were rescued, they need to get the boats out of the water because of gas and oil leaks going into the water

I didn’t hear anyone hurt. I think they said it was the restaurant. It is probably closed for the off season. I think the marina itself doesn’t close.
Yikes and we looked down at the restaurant, If the water doesn’t freeze people could be on their house boats, I would not want to carry groceries down those steps
Yes that overlook is directly over the main part of the marina.
We were very high up
Most of this lake has high cliffs. It is a deep lake.
