Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Did you know that your winterstorm affects our weather , too ?
It brings milder moist florida air across the ocean, which meets our colder air. Therefore we will have more snow, icerain, etc. . The weatherguy just said that and explained it .
Have a nice and safe and cozy evening ,you all.
Pooooooooooooooof……👋😁.
Bed hopefully sooner for me tonight.😴.
Good night Gabi and sleep well, the weather is amazing when you think about it? but it’s the weather of global warming that’s causing this for everyone-it’s changed the weather paterns😯
You are right. 😕
Gabi, Sorry about sending our rotten weather your way; eventually it’ll move on to somewhere else soon. {{HUGS}}
Have a good night 😴
Hi Pam😍
Thanks pam….and it is my next day already again, 2 pm.
Lol with the weather. It should move further east in my opinion. Could blow around those war hawk’s heads in the east 😉 and kinda cool them down.
If weather just could do that, 🙄🙄.
Have a good new day, pam.
Interesting Gabi.
It is , sweetie.😘
Good morning. Well……😁: pills, lol.
Good afternoon my friend and a happy, drum free day!
For now its drum free, but the dishes which i am doing right now, are clattering in my ears, lol.
Hugs &kissy.
I hope all is good with your power. And nancy’s.
So far so good. Nancy is with my niece.
I remember that your niece /nancys daughter has a lovely big house.
Wasnt there the christmas cookie -baking going on ?
Is the pee-problem with nancy’s dogs solved now? Hopefully pee outside now ?
Two beautiful nests, which one will get eggs? maybe both?
If Jewel doesn’t return I say it will be this one.
Just saw a video and a hummer was going to the one in the back
Is the one out back where Jewel and Jade were?
Getting together with Judy tomorrow at 10:00am, she will take me to get some eggs and milk, and bird seed I’m out of those things, she doesn’t want me walking
Good for Judy. I’m glad it got rescheduled.
Be safe today, dear girls.
Poof…😘
Did DH make it to work or did he take the day off?
Too much snow to drive. Is at home.
20 inches snow.
WOW!!! that’s a lot of snow, I got to see 16 inches of snow up north so I can imagine the amount of snow, do you have to shovel? have your streets been plowed? I’m glad he’s safe at home with you😘
We have the bulgarian guy who is shoveling. But he works with a trash removing company, so he is not home during the day. Hubby and i shoveled. Main roads were plowed FINALLY after hours . Smaller roads nothing. I drove some miles today to my footcare, it was weird but ok. They had salted some and i drove slow. By then it was 10 am.
Hubby would have had to go much earlier. By then nothing was done to the roads. Years ago when i was younger they plowed even at night, was better back then.
Takes time to get it cleared and when its that much it can take days
Roads better today. DH could go to work.
Cold in Texas farm goats are wearing coats😍
😍
I love the look on their faces, its like this feels good😘
They are so cute!😃
Their faces I love😍
Me too.
Good morning Bella Buds. We are 16, snowing outside and we have POWER. Nancy still doesn’t, but she has a space heater, a lamp. She thinks her cook top burners, which are gas, may work without power. She hasn’t tested them yet. Fridge stuff is outside. She doesn’t think she can pull her fridge out to give it a turn on the generator. She won’t try with her food outside now. Nancy is a can’t stand to stay home person so I imagine it won’t be long until she is figuratively climbing the walls. julie let us know how your… Read more »
Good morning Debbie! i’m glad that you guys survived the storm but 16 degrees is pretty chilly Poor Nancy I wonder when they’ll get power back?
We are 15 now, it went in the wrong direction! Nashville and the whole greater area have wide spread outages. It may be a good while as Nancy is more rural. The priority will be hospitals, nursing homes, then probably densely populated areas where more people can get power in a shorter time.
Good Morning Debbie YAY!!!! you have power I was so worried, Nancy’s stove will work just have to light the burner no electric start-and tell her she can’t use it for heat, that’s very dangerous. Dad is doing just OK-he’s at OK my Mom doesn’t like this place he’s at.Judy’s brother is doing better he did eat yesterday, she’s scared for him and think he’s giving up because of a comment he made, Judy told him that their Mom will be home in April Gary’s response was he would try to be gone by then (their Mother can be a… Read more »
sounds like my mom, she can’t stand to stay home either…I can do it for awhile but feels good to get out after a few days.
What should I tell Nancy about burner heat being dangerous. I don’t think she believed me.
She better not do it. Its like an open fire in a closed room. Flame eats oxygen, plus creates carbon monoxide . People die like that. Its good for shorter cooking with window opened a little , NOT heating with it.
Please not.
I hope it is ok, I copied/pasted that to Nancy.
Hubby and i say : you did very good, its very ok. Nancy be safe.
Thanks Gabi and hubby.
Yeah yeah the hubby. The stinker, lol. Good boy right now. 😁😂.
Does Good Boy get a treat?
Hahahaha, he’s got me, lolol. Enough “treat”. 🤣
But yes, he gets a little treat sometimes, like a yummy treat of what he likes to eat.
He does have you lucky man😍 these chocolates are so good😋
😄
See what julie still posted , can send that to nancy, too.
I just came on to say that it still snows like crazy here. Roads are bad, really a LOT of snow, around 20 inches.
I had just now asked my hubby -who is at home (couldnt drive to work because of too much snow on roads)-, if nancys burners would go. He said the same thing what you said. And that it is very dangerous. Open flame uses up oxygen. Have to keep window open , again cold comes in thru window.
NOT doing that with the burners.
Thank you Gabi. I’ll pass it on. Your husband sounds knowledgeable.
He knows such things very well, plus julie said the same thing. Maybe she also has burners like that and knows the danger, too.
He’s Julie is knowledgeable too. I’ve always heard not to use burners for heat, just didn’t know why except for fire hazard.
Yeah, it can be deadly.
(CO) would kill you before a fire
👍👍
I know about not doing that, also because of the cold we have infomercials on the TV to tell people not do do that
Thats good with this info on tv.
Your Dad won’t be there too long, I hope the physical therapy part is good. I know he hates the food, but hopefully they are taking care of his medical needs. I do understand about the difference in nursing homes
i do understand both Judy’s perspective and Gary’s perspective on his comment. I do hope he stays as strong as he can for as long as he can.
The PT has not been good he hardly gets any
Yay power!
Good morning It’s 38 degrees here pretty chilly for Tucson. Rick is at the urologist and I’m doing laundry. No big plans for today
Good morning Ardy, you really are cold for you.
How this temperature is pretty normal for January it’s early morning. It’s 41 now it’ll it’ll keep going up but maybe not out of the 50s today
Yikes Ardyth that is cold for you, but as a Minnesotan you know that that’s warm😜😂
