Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Denver University created a Professorship for holocaust studies; they have a visiting professor lined up with the initial endowment and are aiming for a permanent position.

Thank you pam. I hope the permanent position works out. It should be taught forever. 🙏

I’ll have to check into it after I finish my chores for the day. Something I’ve never really thought about before. Not that it’s important, I was just curious. I’m learning lots of new stuff this year. 🥰

Hi Pam. I’m not sure I understand what the monument is trying to portray.

Howdy do BellaFam 💖
Cloudy and very cold overnight/morning; might make it to 40 today, if the sun was shining. 😏 Should probably take the water bill over, hafta start the car anyway.

These cats hovering over the aquarium ↓↓ reminds of a woman i worked with who had a very smart cat; she was leash-trained. Her mom lived in the basement apt and had a big salt-water tank with a cover; beautiful thing. She forgot to put the cover back on after feeding the fish one day. They came home to No Fish and a cat full of expensively delicious Sushi. 🐟

At the clinic where I board Jade they put a fish tank in the cat room. they have a very sturdy lid and the cats do sit on it to look at the fish-I think that Jade would play with a fish if she got it but I don’t think she would eat it, she likes her fish in tubes(licky sticks)😂

I found out the adult eagle is real…he is Lincoln. Lincoln is a real, trained bald eagle who serves as a beloved live mascot for the Philadelphia Eagles, flying before home games to thrill fans and symbolize the team, managed by the American Eagle Foundation. Known as a “lucky charm,” this non-releasable eagle, who couldn’t hunt in the wild, was chosen in 2018 and has become a fan favorite, participating in educational conservation efforts.

I love it. But I was a little disappointed in the AI generated eaglet.

They wouldnt “abuse” a real eaglet tumbling around in the rain. but I know what you mean..

KyDebbie
January 27, 2026 11:31 am

Oh I know that. But I just thought it looked a little too fake, especially how they had the eaglet bouncing two feet off the horses back and landing perfectly on the back. It would have looked more real if the eaglet was burying its talons into the horses hair and hanging on for dear life, with lowered head like they do in wind. Of course there is no real scenerio.

You are right, about the eaglet landing, Debbie. I guess they were trying to emphasize the “stick” landing. Maybe they could have shown both. 🤔
