Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning BellaFam 💖
Up early for no reason whatsoever 😏 More Olympic-watching in store for today. Got to 59 degrees yesterday. We won’t get any snow, but the mountains are supposed to get 10-20 inches; it won’t be enough to save the season nor fill the reservoirs, unless it snows every day for the next several weeks. It could be a very fire-filled summer 😔

Good morning Pam😍The cat cartoon is so true😘 I feel it everyday and you do too😃I do hope more snow/rain comes, I do know the snow melt really matters-no one really thinks about winters being dry, But it does happen, we notice it in the lakes up north that they are low and even the great lakes being low

Good morning…kind of slow this morning…one excuse is I had a kitty on my lap 😀 I guess the other one is I’m tired..but don’t want to have too much caffeine…DH has off today (Lincoln’s birthday) and tomorrow a vacation day, Monday President’s day…I’m sure he’ll be busy though. I did suggest we use the gift card for a nice restaurant either today or tomorrow..or whenever works best. Actually we have two gift cards for that restaurant. My sister also watched the halftime again and used the Spanish/English translator…like me, she’s forgotten a lot of the Spanish she learned…I took… Read more »

Good morning Lynn and what a good reason to be slow, a kitty in your lap! I thought when Lincoln and Washington’s days were combined into President’s day the individual days were no longer celebrated. Enjoy the restaurant whatever day you go. Was your sister able to find a way to watch Bunny’s performance and see the translation on the screen at the same time? I would like to see that, maybe I would enjoy the performance more. I really can’t learn a language. I’m totally left brained, I can’t even remember conjugation of English verbs. Believe it or not… Read more »

Hi Debbie, i’m going to answer for Lynn about Illinois; it’s a State holiday for them because it’s where Lincoln was born. 💝 i’ve always been sad that it was combined with Washington’s b-day; it seemed to diminish both their contributions.

Lincoln was born in Hodgenville Ky! I go thru the area every time I go to Louisville, which used to be very often. He moved to Indiana at age 7. He was about 21 when he moved to IL but of course that is where he became important! Thanks for the info about IL.

it sounded like she/they watched and saw the translation at the same time. i think our state is called the Land of Lincoln, so he’s really big here…and my town has lots of Lincoln history.

Good morning Bella Buds. 40 and sunny right now. I’m continuing on my clean out quest. Found about 5 long letters I wrote 1972-1976 to my parents. The first one I was probably a college sophomore, the last one I had moved to the eastern part of KY. I’ve read 2. My mother probably kept letters she deemed significant because I’m sure I wrote a lot back then. Long distance telephone was expensive, there was no text or email. The cost of a letter was 8 cents whereas a typical talk on the phone maybe $10. I’m sure the minimum… Read more »

Good morning Ardy. What a good thing to do, go sign the banner. This whole thing has struck a nation wide, international wide chord. Here is a woman that people see like their own mother’s and grandmother’s. Just a wonderful person who loves her family dearly and is loved back intensively. Just good people. She was taken because her daughter is very talented and progressed far in her chosen career and has become wealthy. But people also see the hearts of this family as just plain, everyday people in every way.
