Live Hummingbird Nest Cam

This is a live broadcast of a wild female hummingbirds nesting. There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Some have been given names such as Bella, Rosie and Luna. Their nests are located in Ficus trees and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Bella lays 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 17 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. She has been laying 4 to 5 clutches each year for several years. When it’s not nesting season you will see a Hummingbird feeder on the live cam. For more information about hatches, camera set-up and more check out bellahummingbird.com.

UPDATE — The bite area on my right leg is looking better now as the inflamed skin in the left pic is returning to normal color. Here is a pic showing the comparison from August 12 on the left to August 15. The pain has been gone since Sunday, August 11 angel

Don’t worry what it looks like as long as it isn’t infected or something. The important thing is you don’t have pain!

Hello Phamily — I had a busy day today and part of it included a haircut appt. It had been 19 weeks since my last cut embarrased I wear my hard parted on left side tucked behind my ear and then the hair on the right side is pulled up into a hair clip to keep it from falling in my face. I think my stylist did well and I like it so far but the true test will be when I wash and blow dry it myself.

Hi to all. I went to see the NP yesterday. Guess it was good in a way that I was in a lot of pain and could hardly walk! She examined the area and her poking around nearly brought me out of the recliner I was in. She ordered 800 mg Ibuprofen up to three times daily. That is not just for pain but also fights inflammation. She wanted an ultrasound and was going to schedule it. But she called this AM and said she had talked to the doc and he didn’t feel an ultrasound would help. It could… Read more »

Debbie, being in that much pain 6 weeks after an Ablation doesn’t seem right. And the NP appears to be a little callous in her ‘treatment’. Hope your PCP can/will do something concrete. {{HUGS}}

At our State Fair almost all the show livestock are housed in an air conditioned building. We do have a really good state fair. Anyway, there is an area they can bathe the livestock. Right in that area is a restroom with showers for the humans that show the animals. Many of them sleep on cots in the area with their animals and need the showers. Still can’t imagine anyone actually bring an animal in there! Must be exciting to unexpectedly see a Hummer! Do you know what kind?

my dad told me, that when he was a little boy, he had to bathe a sheep once. they had a little lake close to their village, and he chased the sheep thru the lake. it came out, and that wool was so filled with water, that the sheep broke down and could not walk for a while, because it was so heavy. i still remember the sheeps name, it belonged to my grandma, it was called “brackdaggl”. this is even a weird name for a german. giggle

see, my dear, i am improvable. we hope for the best, with my further development! bigsmile
i still am very uncertain, how this washing procedure with the horse went on. maybe buckets with water , and then the horse got sorta flushed down or so. shocked what a mess!! maybe with the help of a couple of racoons???( the washing) cheese we will not know for sure, and we will hope, not to stagger into a happening like that, when we open the next public bathroom door.
glad for you and the hummer though!!!

DEBBIE, you say ,you are interested in culture, maybe in history? i said before, that my forefathers emigrated to usa. i have no contact any more to the folks, my parents had, when they were still alive. but awhile ago , i found something in the internet, when i was checking that little town called stuttgart in kansas, where they all lived , and in the area there. i found a website, i typed in google : stuttgart history-phillips county review. there is the old history from the settlers. and on page 1 and 3, there are even the names… Read more »

I know nothing about my ancestors. In fact, I don’t know any family that goes past grandparents. I might know more soon however. There is a member of my sister’s church who likes to do ancestry as a hobby. He is doing it for her for free! I would like to know what country most my ancestors are from. I have reason to believe some of my ancestors are Native American.

native american, how interesting! i like history like that. how they lived, what they ate, what they believed, how they got along with life, was it hard, illness,natural medicine, and so on. these settlers from my family, had things going on with native americans,too. my mom told me , one of these settlers found a dead body wrapped in a blanket, in a tree. took it down to bury it, and indians came and chased him quite a distance. he should have not done that, but he didn´t know, that this was the way , the indians acted with the… Read more »

So you have more connection to the US than an ex husband. I’m not too interested in my history, at least not a lot of details that go back a long time. But I would like info that connects me to my ancestors country.

but i don´t write them, we have no contact any more, life goes different ways. my parents still had written letters with some of them, but the old folks died, and i have no idea about the next generation.
maybe you have a chance to find out about your roots one day. content

PAM. i replied to you on the previous page this with the horse in the toilet reminds me of a visit in the UK. we stayed overnight near the motorway in a motel in staffordshire. the lady there told us , when there are meetings with people that have these staffordshire terriers, they get medals, and so on, that the people groom the dogs in the motel, like in the bathtub. this is normal at home,i guess, -i dont have a dog, – but in a motel??? but it was clean there anyway. you all have a great day.
