Live Hummingbird Nest Cam

This is a live broadcast of a wild female hummingbirds nesting. There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Some have been given names such as Bella, Rosie and Luna. Their nests are located in Ficus trees and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Bella lays 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 17 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. She has been laying 4 to 5 clutches each year for several years. When it’s not nesting season you will see a Hummingbird feeder on the live cam. For more information about hatches, camera set-up and more check out bellahummingbird.com.

Howdy do BellaFam – had our daily power outage around 10 i told the rep there seems to be something seriously wrong; most folks’ A/C hadn’t even kicked on yet ? Anyway, we’re obviously back — but don’t get too involved in anything powered by electricity; it’s only going to lead to disappointment ? Jenn, poor Danny-boy; not only being abused by the vet-team then add insult to injury by having to take MORE antibiotics. Sure hope this go-round clears it up {{HUGS}} Ticks are just evil Kathy, another bite? You’re just a mess. {{HUGS}} Maybe a Nun’s-Habit or Muslim-Hijab… Read more »

Good late morning as it’s 11:25 AM here. Well … for me this summer has been one I would label “Strange Encounters of the Insect Kind” because last Saturday when I was at my Mom’s, I got stung by a wasp on my face when I was near her car and I still have a small welt from that encounter you can see in the attached pic. I discovered multiple wasps going in and out from behind the driver’s side mirror. Mama’s pest control company came on Monday and treated both side mirrors; I rechecked them on Wednesday and the… Read more »

??. No smile while modeling your new hair do, but a smile, however faint, showing the wasp welt! Bless your heart. Sorry about he wasp sting. Boy can those things hurt! But at least you didn’t have an allergic reaction, at least not a serious one. My old Honda had the Takata recall also. Then a couple years later a recall on the recall! Then there was a problem and they had to order something. I had to get a rental car, which they paid for, to get home.

Good morning, very happy yesterday’s vet visit is behind us. Danny will buck and kick and jump when anyone tries to hold him for shots. Ended up with him barking and bouncing and then they took him in back of the room and 4 people to hold him for blood draw and shots. Sounded like he was screaming. I nearly passed out sitting in waiting room, Denny took him into the room. We were told he had Anaplasmosis last year ( a tick illness ) and put on Amoxicillin for 30 days. Said he tested ‘high’ positive this year but… Read more »

I read some into the basement, and can’t get past your post Debbie. Something is very wrong with what you are going through. You were injured during the procedure and that should not have happened. For the surgeon’s office to pass you back to your NP makes me really wonder about him. Pam is right, this should not be going on 6 weeks after a procedure! I’m so sorry for what you are going through. Pain meds will mask some of the pain but it will not help the problem that it is masking. I worked in a doctor’s office… Read more »

Thank you Jenn for your support. I appreciate you and your knowledge base. The Phamily here all have their strengths and different sources of information, skills and talents. I am so lucky to have found all of you. And let’s not leave out the love and compassion here. Wow Jenn, sure sounds like quite the adventure with sweet Danny boy. That lucky dog is only used to being treated like royalty, not manhandled, poked and stuck! The nerve of those people! But I am sorry for the tick disease. On a positive note it sounds like he has improved since… Read more »

jenn ,this is true, no dairy products with these pills. i still remember this, too, from taking them myself some time ago.i had cats once, and when they had to take medicine, i bought a piece of liverwurst, squeezed some of it out, and put the pill inside, that worked great, too. and it didn´t involve cooking . content

I just made a short dive. Kathy, I saw you good looking hair cut again. But why are you not smiling? Pam, I don’t blame the NP for not going any further with my muscle issue. She has seen me three times when usually I wouldn’t have seen her at all. She is cardio. It is pretty much the PCP who deals with issues that I have now. It has nothing to do with the heart other than I feel it happened because of the position the leg was placed in during the ablation.

RE my hummer; turns out there are several out there and me with no feeder! One came right up to the picture window and fluttered at me !heart @Debbie, you asked if i could tell what kind; probably a Black-chinned; those are fairly common out here.

Thanks Pam, I looked them up. They can be less territorial under certain circumstances than other hummers! You said you didn’t have a feeder. Whose is this?
