Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hello…I opened some windows here also…taking advantage of the warmth, going to be cold again soon…not real chatty, lost an old friend/coworker 😭 tried a couple times to contact her but she never got back, that was quite awhile ago and wish I would have kept trying . Going to DB’s in awhile..

I hope being outside will make your heart feel better Lynn, I’m very sorry to hear your news, you will always be friends and have your working together memories
Oh Lynn sorry about your friend. You were friends a very long time. She probably had a lot going on when you tried to contact her. I’m sorry for your loss and pain.
I’m so sorry about your friend, Lynn. It’s never easy, no matter how long it has been. ❤️ I’m saying prayers for both of you. 🙏😓
Hi Lady Bug😍🐞 how are things today with you and Dutchess?
Hey there, Butterfly!! 🦋 😘 Just got wiped out, took me a minute to get logged back in. A couple of graphics came in at the same time, that might have been it. Have to keep our eye on that type of thing. It might be some of the problem we have. Need a bigger buffer or something? Dutchess is doing much better, thank you. 🌸 I am getting good with the schedule of getting medicines together and feeding her three times a day, chicken and rice. She is trying to stay settled down also, as I won’t let her… Read more »
Hi Karen, so glad Dutchess is on the mend; poor little girl 🙏
Could the medicine be making her hyper? she’s used to playing and playing with you-she does it to please you😘 I also think its a sign that she feels better or glad you brought her home from the vet, you will only be mean Mom for awhile and it’s for her own good. You just mean Mom her all you want she will forgive you plus your giving her yummy chicken and rice so she’s doing good and eating good. And love you take care of you, you have been worried about her and need to make sure Mom eats… Read more »
Oh I am so sorry for your loss of your friend 💖
Julie: Good boys
The one on the right is smiling.
They did a good sit for the picture, they just stopped wiggling for a second😂they are big cute puppy’s Lincoln isn’t a year old yet
😁
Yep, look at happy face!! ☺️ I think Rottweilers are sweet. I bet the one on the left does all the worrying about every little thing, while the one on the right just has a good time. 🤗There’s only one breed that scares me, but I can’t remember the name of it right now. Of course, training makes a difference too.
Thats Franklin he’s the oldest and got jealous when I was loving on Lincoln he bit Lincoln in the butt to make him move and Lincoln let out a yelp. Franklin is training little brother on the do’s and don’ts and when people are around its for him only😂
Sounds about right, 😍
This is Franklin and his brother Lincoln they are my Rotty lovies they love me and slobber all over me😍 its heaven😘
Do you know their parents’ names?
😂 nope just the dogs😂
Okay, I just thought they might have been George and Martha, or something like that. 😂
I love rotweillers
Me to Ardyth, the scare alot of people because they have a bad rep for bitting and attacking, I would pick a Rottweiler over a poodle any day. Gentle Giants. I get to pet and see them about everyday when I go for a walk and I look forward to seeing them😍
Very handsome fellows 💗
Slobber hounds, I was full of slobber when I got to see them😂 they get very excited
Went for a walk got cat litter and food, ran into two of my favorite dogs I sent Debbie a picture, I just put shorts on😃 its up to 69-rain and snow on Wensday
Wow. Our temperature from Sunday to Monday will drop from 72 to 32. 40 degrees.
Sounds like Tucson
From bikini to parka in one day! Exciting! 😂
Its 67 right nowI’m going for a walk just opened windows, letting the fresh air in😍
Good idea! It’s 77 here and have the front door open 😎
Love letting in the frsh air😎
It has been nice today. No wind, and the air smells really good! Doesn’t get much better than that. 🌼
Sounds great!
This is how i feel today ↓↓ couldn’t go to sleep til almost 3a; up at 7.30
Glad it’s national napping day
Hi Pam my calendar says it Panic day😂 I like yours better😘
Hi Julie — i would think napping is much better for our health 😉😄
You got that right no drama😜
I have an excuse!! And it’s right after the time change! I needed it!! I don’t usually look that great, though. A little cutie!
🤣. I can relate to that! Hi Pam. I wish they would quit messing with the time, but that still wouldn’t stop me from feeling insufficient funds.
😄 Hi Debbie ♥
I hate those nights…..is this due to DLST?
Maybe a little bit, but i’m more inclined towards starting a new book 🙄
Ha-ha-ha. Great analogy! Just perfect! 😍 I’ll have to steal that one and use it here. 🌸
Happy Birthday Barbie, i got mine in 1962
mine 1962
Did your mother make that dress? Very pretty.
I think it was a Barbie dress
I had some Barbies but I don’t remember the year I got them, it was a long time ago😳
I don’t remember if I ever had one myself. I know I played with one with a neighbor girl. I pretended to be interested but I was bored. The only doll I ever wanted was a Chatty Cathy, and that was because you pulled a string and she talked. I really thought that was something.
love Barbie 😍
She was cute. ☺️
That was me, Debbie. I never really got into the concept of make believe. I just knew it wasn’t real, so why bother, I still had to go back to reality. I faked it pretty well though. I never had any dolls. Except for one when I was 3 years old that said Mama when I turned it over. Her manufacturer name was Toodles. I named one of my dogs after her.
I understand Karen. I was more into things like making a sling shot and target practice, a rubber band gun made with a clothes pin, BB gun, ball, bike riding, coloring.
Lol.
I played with teddybears. Not into dolls.
I was into tomboy things. The ones I mentioned. Then basketball, softball. I put together model cars, did a couple paint by numbers things. Made a ladder to help me get on a low branch of a big tree.
Yeah, i loved to climb on trees, too. Made a little treehouse with my girl friend, bike riding, rollerskates, badminton, walking in the woods with dad, my little pets : turtles, guinea pig, hamster . Sometimes tadpoles, too. Close to my parents house there was an old wall. Flawed, crumbling. In my phantasy there were different “rooms” in those crumbling parts of the wall and on top of it and i had a small pink rosebud off some rosebush which was my little “doll”. Rosebud-doll lived in those “rooms”. I walked the rosebud around in and on this wall and… Read more »
Gabi what wonderful childhood memories you have. Sounds like you had so much fun. I never could skate much, I could not balance. But I had no trouble riding my bike! Loved my bike. Such a cute story with Rosebud! And I will NEVER forget walking the blind lady! I never did want cigarettes. I had fun with the rubber band “gun”. It was made out of a cardboard roll which was part of a clothes hanger and a trigger that was a clothes pin. Gabi! Shooting your husband!
Bet you were a sweet little stinker when you were little. With your rubber band gun, lol and doing all the tomboy things.
My biggest and most loved thing was nature and all the little creatures which crept around and also in creeks and lakes.
My dad showed me all of that. Cows , pigs, cats and chicken on a farm. I could milk a cow.
Stupid me did smoke cigarettes for some years. But not any more since a long time.
I was a good kid, very shy. I grew up in a city, but had a big yard for that part of the city. So no farm animals around. I would have enjoyed all the things you did. I have always loved animals.
I was a terrible kid when i was in my puberty.
Wanted to hang out with my friends in our town more often than learning for school.
My parents didnt like my ideas back then too much. 🙂. Dad was strict. ….and he was right. Mom was not so strict.
Now i need to shut down, can hardly keep my eyes open.
You are good now, they would be very proud of their daughter and granddaughter, and the good man you have for a husband. Your dad took control. That was good.
I apologized to my parents later for my no-good behavior.
I am really glad that i did this BEFORE my mom started to have alzheimers. So she still understood the things i had said.
I had a very happy childhood and a happy teenhood , when i look back at it. And i had very good parents. I would love to still have them…. oh no… tears coming….
Debbie, you are a smart, warmhearted and precious lady. Your big family (and jo) can be glad to have you.❣️
I have a feeling your behavior wasn’t really that bad. You had wonderful parents and such a good youth. Sorry about your tears, I know they are bittersweet. Happy in your memories, sad in your loss.
LOL, smart? Maybe an over achiever. Thank you for your very sweet and ,loving words. They are very special words from a lady that I can reflect the same words back to you. Hugs and love.
My behavior was kinda wild. The opposite of how dad wanted it. Oh well, those days were long ago. When i think of my parents, it is like one day i can smile, one day i can laugh over something they did, and one day it tears me apart inside and i miss them so much. Still feeling this way after all those years they are gone now. Hmmmm, i had to look up the word overachiever. Maybe you were like that when in school or being a teacher. But today i feel that smart is a good word for… Read more »
I’m sorry Gabi for your sometimes tears. Your love for your parents was very deep and strong. It is a testament to what wonderful people they were for the emotions to still be so strong. They live in your heart. I hope the tears aren’t too often, that the memories bring mostly love and joy. Their legacy still lives on earth through you.
Enjoy your tv time with your husband.
Thank you debbie. You had a lot of good words for me. Thanks 😘😘😘🫂.
