Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good Morning!!
I was trying to decide if I wanted to walk this morning but, I decided to clean the kitchen. It had been a year since I took everything off the tops of the cupboards and fridge!! When I sprayed 409 on the things the dirt/dust just rolled off. It didnt take all that long but going up and down many times on the step ladder was hard on my back so after I took my shower I put on a pain patch.

How pretty, Debbie. I’ve heard of those, they are jigsaw puzzles coming right? Do you save them? Can you print them out?

They are automatically saved by the app. I could take a screen shot and print them but no reason to do that. I like to put them together while I watch tv, talk on the phone for long conversations. I just do easy ones that are easy to put together.

Great dog story. A man was out walking his dog and went by a house they go by every day. His dog started barking loudly and pulling the man toward the house. Apparently this was not at all characteristic of this dog. On the porch was an unconscious woman, not warmly dressed, no shoes. She could not be seen from the road. Her body temp was low, she could not be roused. He call 911 and she spent a week in ICU. This dog definitely saved her life.

I was walking my Dog Maggie through a park and the night before there had been a alert in my neighborhood for a suicidal man and to be on the look out for him, Maggie found him, what I thought was a black garbage bag under some bushes was the mans body. No cell phones at that time I had to go home and call the police and report it. I also had to go back to the park and talk to the Police and give them a statement about how I found him with Maggie, his body was gone… Read more »

Not adding anything to weekly cleaning. I said above what I did, took everything off the top of the kitchen cupboards and washed everything and the same with the fridge.

I read that I meant you are doing both weekly cleaning and spring cleaning, so more than you usually do, so adding. Unless you are skipping weekly cleaning which I bet you aren’t.

Goodmorning Bellas its a beautiful morning should hit the 70’s today. just gave me a leaf blower for yard clean up and it has a feature where it sucks up and mulches the leaves in to a bag, should make yard clean up easier when its time. That’s a ways off yet. I need to check when yard waste pick up is with my city will have to plan around that. Have a great day, my arms are sore from playing with Judy’s dog, Throwing the ball gives you a work out😂

sounds like a fun workout! our leaf truck didn’t finish last late fall so going to come again in the spring…the leaves froze up early! and some people still have leaves by the curb, don’t remember seeing that before. I guess since we have more cold weather here it will be good for my helper to wait a bit…think he usually comes in April, sometimes even May. I need to prune my hydrangea later this month maybe on a warm day.

I had things pretty cleaned up in the back yard, the big-huge red maple in my neighbor yard hung onto its leaves later than all the other trees, had things cleaned up, tree let go of its leaves and filled my yard full again. I usually don’t worry about it but its a thick layer on the ground. I want to be able to use my fire pit but the leaves have to go first

Good morning Sunshine. Wonderful Judy gave you the leaf blower. That sounds wonderful. And it mulches! I’d leave the mulched leaves on the ground. It is good for the soil. `is it battery powered? Nice of Judy. Your sore arms are sorta good. Builds muscle!

Good morning…sunny and high will be in the 70s this afternoon…looks like maybe windy again though..hopefully not as bad as yesterday. DH is working from home…I have laundry to do and maybe set out some spring/Easter decorations even though we have some cold days coming. Maybe we’ll go to DB’s again late afternoon and /or a walk or two. Have a good day! 😍
