Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good evening…we had thought about going out and to the farm store but he gets home later now so he just picked up takeout fish meals. I think if we’re going out we should leave around 6 at the latest, not 7. It was good and the best takeout meal we’ve had this year, as good or better than the restaurant that had the really good fish meal. I meant to say that the vet told me a little bit ago that Dutchess can have a little bit of Greek yogurt, but no vitamins or anything else right now. With the pancreatitis and enlarged heart, along with the UTI, the vet wants to wait and see how her current treatment works. It is nice to know folks like y’all, who try to help figure things out. Thank you. 😘

that might help…if not, maybe you can ask about fortiflora but I bet the yogurt will help. Karen, my sister used to call me often about cat questions…no texting then and no Mr. Google, lol

Thank you Lynn. I thought about Mr. Google, no texting, etc. the other day. I thought “geez, I used to wonder about different things and then not even think about how I can find out. My mind didn’t think about the library, and I didn’t know anybody who was knowledgeable about all things.” But it didn’t bother me at the time. Now however, I am on the internet all the time, just looking up petty stuff.
No, I have looked online, but I didn’t find any concrete information. I keep forgetting to ask the vet.
So good the vet got back to you, I was thinking the yogurt would be OK for her to consume😘 when my dog Maggie was on anti biotics my vet had suggested the yogurt for her GI track, That was from a vet and not just me😍 I just repeated what I did

Sweet that he was accepted into the troupe, I wonder if his Mom recognizes him? she’s still in the troupe but rejected him, wonder if he has had any interactions with him?

Hi Julie. I heard that she knows and he knows, but she still totally rejects him. So sad, he is just the sweetest thing. I wish they had a surrogate program there like they have at other zoos.
Those zookeepers look like they really love him though.
He’s found his place that’s what matters, its not like he can leave the zoo and find another troupe
So true, but if he had had a surrogate there at the zoo, he wouldn’t have had to go all those months with no maternal love. A lot of the zoos in the US have great surrogate programs. Maybe it’s not something they have in Japan. I’ve watched him kissing Orange Mama, what a sweetheart. But like you said, he has finally found his place. I noticed there’s also another female there who kind of watches over him and preens him. If he could only know how much he is loved throughout the world.

Ardyth gossip for you, that crazy woman Taylor Frankie Paul has lost custody of her 5 year old daughter-its a good thing for that child, she got hit by a chair her mother threw. I like to think there’s two sides to every story, but when things going on involves a child get the kid out of there-they don’t need to witness what’s going on with a parent. The chair thing happened in 2023 now with the latest assault they removed her daughter, poor baby
