Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I have been a bad hummer luver the last couple of days. I know you all understand the situation, yet I feel like I’m missing something when I can’t chat back and forth. I have actually gotten quite used to it. I cook a bunch of wings for D tonight, and quite a few left over, so I made hot wings for me and him. Yes! I can’t believe it! That never happens around here. We each eat at different times and eat something else. It’s almost like a family! 🙂
I thought your husband couldn’t cook for himself.
He cooks tv dinners, pot pies, and cups of Chinese noodles pretty well. That’s about it. He knows how to make sandwiches too, but he just doesn’t feel like it.
Poor man. Those chicken wings were a treat to him.

I did, Debbie. But I didn’t make that much. It only allowed for six servings. So I made quite a bit more tonight. I’m about winged out. I was going to do chicken breast, but she really doesn’t like them at all. I think they are too dry and flavorless, no matter what I do. Sorry I didn’t come back sooner, I had planned to, but the time got away from me.
No reason to be sorry Karen. You have a life, and a very busy one right now. I would think drumsticks or thighs would be easier to fix. They have much bigger hunks of meat than the wings.

I learned about it years ago when I was making “home-made” dog food. But I haven’t done that in years, so I’ve had no reason to apply that knowledge. Not an everyday question.

it’s too bad she doesn’t like the breasts because of way less fat if any..but maybe a very small amount of the wing is ok.

I did. Dolly is the only real celebrity I idolize. I will say it popped up on my computer a couple days ago that Martina Navratilova had died, but it was click bait and she hadn’t. But my blood ran cold and my heart jumped and raced!
