Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

A neighbor guy down the street does that to keep woodpeckers away from his saguaro cactus. They pack holes into them and birds make nests in the holes and they kind of ruin the saguaro cactus

Good morning Bella Buds, we are cool but sunny, 52. I haven’t seen a hummer yet.
‘The news is a little better today, at least for awhile. My brain is pretty empty this morning, I’ll probably have more to say later. I didn’t finish my files yesterday, I had kitchen stuff to do. Y’all have a good day.

I’m doing good now but I used my sleep apnea machine and I think it interfered some with my sleep. My doctor suggested I see the respiratory therapist at the medical supply place. I think the head gear may not be right since loosing weight. But right now I’ve been trying to experiment, do I feel better using it, or not using it. Like a week without the machine, a week with it. But I may need to go on and see the respiratory therapist.

I hate that machine and am not sure I really need it. People who really need it are happy to have it because they feel so much better with it, but not me.

Debbie, please ask your doc before you stop using the machine. Its a good idea to get the head gear right. Dont want your sleep apnea do harm to you. Hugs and a good night.😘

Hi Gabi I did talk to her. She suggested I see the respiratory therapist and ask cardio also. My apnea is considered mild. Mild is 5-15 on the AHI scale and I was 7, the low end of mild. The electrophysiologist who did my last heart ablation had the same score and he told me he had not decided yet if he would get a machine.

Just be well, my dear . 😘🦜🌹.

Thank you for your concern Gabi Habibi. You are very good to me. Your card is beautiful and touching. How are you doing these days? Are you back to normal with all the surgeries. Feet better with the new shoe inserts? Take care of yourself and know you are loved.

I feel ok with my surgery stuff, thank you. My feet feel partly better with my inserts. It is better in the metatarsus – area, but the hallux is still bothering me. It hurts. Not all the time, but again and again. Even when i rest and have legs and feet up on the sofa and no shoes on – like right now. Today our landlord was here and fixed something on 2 windows. It was kinda hard to shut them, the window handle moved with difficulty. It was no problem for him, since he is a window fitter. It… Read more »

I’m sorry about the foot pain still. I can see the inserts helping the metatarsal area but not the hallux, You have I think what we call a bunion. I’m not sure if there is a treatment for that other than surgery. im glad your landlord was able to fix the window problem. It is one advantage to renting an apartment. I haven’t had much trout in my life. I should try it. Tonight I am having wild caught salmon. It is red too, so we are eating similar;ar foods. I like white runner beans. Yes, its a bunion. But not ready for surgery yet, as the doc said.
Wild caught salmon is better than the aquacultural one. Has more and better healthy fat. My green runner beans had only small beans inside, it was mainly the green pod.
I was just now watching a youtube video of how to make Ratatouille. Oh yumm, i think you would like that , too.😋😃.
Yaaaaawn….bed, i am coming .😴💤❤.

I’m really glad your bunion doesn’t need surgery. Do everything you can to prevent that. It is a hard surgery, made worse because you can’t put any weight on your foot for weeks.
‘The pacific wild caught is the best salmon here. It is more expensive but much better. I’ll be sure to look up ratatouille.
You have a good sleep my Gabi Habibi! Love and hugs.

Good morning Lynn. I was thinking of the kind of mausoleum that Ardy has shown pictures of. The kind that has little doors just big enough to slide in a casket or urn. I’ve never actually seen a mausoleum up close, just from a distance, and never been to a funeral where one was used.

We have very few Catholics in my area. I’m not sure if there is a church in my county, if there is it is small. The county where I worked does have one.

I like it, we have mausoleums here, I just don’t know anyone who’s in one, for family urns they are just in the ground, small hole dug and the urn is placed in by someone from the family. I placed my Aunts Urn in the ground. We have done our own burials no church service. Because that’s what the person wanted💖 we have large head stones that the persons name is added to, but also a smaller marker for where the urn is

this one you go inside and there are lots of little doors like you said, all around the room….just saw Ardy’s picture below..that looks like a more modern mausoleum…anyway don’t know if the family even knew that years later they would put ashes in there also…maybe but not sure…DH had to figure out a way to get the box in

Good evening. We are hanging in there. No need for chat police yet 🤗. Dutchess is doing better. 🙏 I am trying to get past the double whammy – a sick baby and then my fall. I was worn out from all the cooking of chicken and rice, the 3 meds, etc for Dutchess for 3 weeks, not to mention the worry, it was so stressful, but then falling. My whole body is still traumatized. My eyebrow area on the other side of my head is also now sore and bruised. It seems to be spreading. I know it’s not,… Read more »

Karen I am so sorry for how badly injured you are. I hope you were checked out by a doctor. There may be a need for treatment, at least something that might aide recovery. I’m sure you have been through a lot of stress. The bright light is that your baby is doing better. That is a big deal, and I am happy for you both. So now concentrate on yourself and get better. Your friends will be waiting for you when you are ready. Hope it is soon. We care for you and love you.

Karen Marie, you might need to get a exray of your head to see what’s going on if your face keeps swelling, to see if anything is broken inside. Like when I had a fall and found out I broke my cheek bone. I had to sleep with my head elevated. It helps to get the blood that’s leaking to move and not pool causing swelling. Your body took a blow to it. Takes time to recover. If you don’t feel improvement you should get checked out..
