Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Just wanted to check in and say hi. I’m having phone trouble. I noticed a gray scroll on my screen last night. This morning I noticed an opening on the bottom left side of the phone. This happened to me once before, and it was a battery swelling and getting ready to explode. So I may not have a phone for much longer, I won’t be able to get to the store until tomorrow. I will try to touch base later. 🙂

Howd-do BellaFam 💖 Not much to report; other than it got to a sunny 81 today 🌞 Decided to start wearing sandals with a back strap; gives me more of a feeling of security than the no-back Birkenstocks. Have had to use a shoehorn to keep the strap from twisting when trying to put them on. Anyway, the shoehorn is a heavy-duty metal from Fontius Shoe Co; it was a men’s shoe store that closed its Downtown Denver store in 1988; not sure if this horn belonged to Dad or Grampa 🤔 It’s almost… Read more »

Pam I think that is the funniest cartoon I’ve seen! I really laughed at that one! Maybe we should ask them if they would mind dropping us off in Canada! 😂. Birkenstocks are good shoes, the strap will provide more stability. A great nephew of mine got Dad’s shoe shine kit. On his wedding day we had gone to the car to leave. He came out to the car with his bride to tell me he had that kit.

Hi Pam……….reading about your family shoe horn made me get dad’s memory box out. I know I took his but it doesnt have a name on it so I dont know its history like you do. I use it to put my tennies on when I walk.
So I took a couple pics of some of the things I have in his box…….Avon souvenirs, Jigs he made for fishing with his good friend.
It took me back 😪

The jigs are still usable. I sent soe to my cousins, Todd and Paul in Iowa because they fish.Todd carried a pole in his trunk so he was always ready to fish…sadly both of the have passed away which breaks my heart. They took me fishing when i went to stay with them.
