Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

This was at the bottom of the spo page😂
I’m back inside, it was such a beautiful day out there, and sever storms tonight😳
Hold down the hatch.
I’m ready just charging things, been through this a lot lately so it feels kinda normal😂
Jade wants to climb a cherry tree.
Jade is trying to be George Washington, cutting down the cherry tree😂
It’s blurry, a action shot, she was jumping to the tree
Fast little bugger.
I am a brand new LA Raiders fan!
I’m a huge Mendoza fan; I knew that’s where he’d go #1 — he certainly earned it 💗
The Raiders have needed a QB for a few years; they must’ve been chomping at the bit to get him.
Such a nice guy and family.
He sure is; he didn’t go to the draft city; he stayed home with his family. A nice healthy bonus for being selected #1 to go along with the rookie contract. I’m so happy for him/family.
Where is home?
🎶 🎶 🎶 celebrate, celebrate, dance to the music. 🎶 🎶 🎶. Just got a call. After a significant amount of worry, trouble, phone calls, and weeks, I just got a call my Wegovy has been approved for another year! I’m happier than a chocolate addict locked in a non-calorie chocolate factory! It is all in the right diagnosis. I have a lot of them that work, they picked the one that didn’t.
This is great news; I’m so happy for you Debbie 😘
Thanks Pam.
Howdy-do BellaFam 💖
Laundry done early, then crosswords, lunch and a nap; after that, the day just melted away, as usual. Christian, Chelsea’s DH, was called to a 2-alarm fire at an apartment building early today. No one hurt, but they were unable to save a resident’s pet kitty 😢
Last night, started reading Malala’s latest book, Finding My Way, A Memoir — it’s a wonderful read, she’s very funny; had to force myself to close it so i could get some sleep.
Did y’all see that coming? ↓↓ 😂
Hi Pam, I bet Christian did everything possible to save the little kitty. Malala is quite the young woman, and was quite the teenager. I looked her up, I was thinking she had acid thrown on her face, but she was actually shot in the head. Such a brave person.
Oh, what a very funny toon!
Hi Debbie ♥ all the firefighters were trying to save the little fur-one. 😔 A 2-alarm is pretty significant; it was too much for the folks at 1 station to handle.
I’ve seen Malala on several talk shows; she’s delightful and her book really is wonderful.
let me know if you know of a show she is going to be on. What happened that they couldn’t get the kitty?
The fire was too intense, smoke inhalation.
Poor little thing, but sweetheart firemen and women.
Hello!!!! I’m getting ready to take a little nap. I wanted to jump in and say a couple of things before the chat gets too long and I interfere with the normal procession. In other words, I don’t want to cause it to go Haywire just to enter a couple of comments. I notice there is a lot of talk about blinds and curtains, but I don’t think I saw anyone talking about shades. I used those for several years, varying thicknesses. They can be quite wonderful. I had some that blocked out almost all of the light and made… Read more »
shades is the way I would go over blinds
Hi Karen. I’m glad to know our eagles in FL are at the river. I guess a mile isn’t very far for an eagle. I really miss F23. I’m sorry about Dutchess’ leg shaking. Hopefully it does go away and doesn’t hurt.
Hi Karen….it would be easier but I want to keep the blinds that I have…I can open them just a little, all the way down or have them open a little at the top…the neighbors’ driveway is right there..and on the other side of the house, I like to be able to open them a little or a lot…in the dining room if we ever get new windows I want to just have tiers on the bottom half and the top half leave open. I actually bought some a couple years ago but they are just sitting inside the window… Read more »
Lynn, those blinds sound like the style Diana has; love those blinds.
they’re just regular blinds…mini blinds in the library, wider ones in the bedroom.
I used shades in Phoenix; but prefer the ones my friend Diana, in Las Vegas has; some style of wood that twist — those are the best, so easy to manipulate. I’ll have to ask her what style they are.
are they bamboo, my sister has bamboo shades at her cabin
I love that style Deborah😍
My Mom and Dad have wooden blinds, the slats are wide easier to clean
