Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning…DH just got home and is out with Bane..we have a dog class and later pack walk..when I reminded him of the walk, he wasn’t happy 🙁 because he has so much to do..and if he goes he might be grouchy so don’t know now….it’s the first one this year and I always sign up for them just in case. It will be nice, upper 60s and sunny then…I’m thinking we should go, sometimes in the summer it might be too hot..and if it’s like last fall, they started having them only once a month instead of… Read more »
Morning Lynn
Did he spend the night at dad’s? He’s probably tired?
every night. He’s always tired..probably was thinking he’d work at his rentals or work on something here.
I guess I didnt know he was spending every night there. Or if I did I forgot.
2 1/2 years now
I forgot 😏
Good Morning Lynn, what time is your walk? can you still do the walk w/o DH? and just take one dog, the dog that needs the most work?
no, it’s just too difficult. and if I did, I would be taking the easiest one, the best walker, that is Bane.
You and Bane can go😃
Sorta surprises me, they both are “educated” dogs. But then again, you are a petite woman.
petite 😂 I can’t deal with them in the truck, very very stressful…Scout has anxiety and not as good of a walker as Bane..one time DH dropped of me and Bane and I walked with my sister and Bane….didn’t know how he’d be when he saw DH leaving …it was hard at first with him but he got better. You have to have two people when they are in the truck.
I’m sorry about Scout, it must be hard for you both to deal with it. Was he abused before you got her? You have a car don’t you?
no she wasn’t
Good morning Lynn, I hope you get to go on the walk. But I understand your husband to, he has a lot on his plate right now. Hope you can have a good day regardless.
Good morning! I thought this picture is appropriate for this site. I went for a walk I’m eating a bagel. We’re going to go see a movie today.
love that…I’ll go for dillydallying, lol
I like lollygagging 😃
yes, that too 😀
😅
Good morning Ardyth I like to Lollygag😂 wonder what that really is? yep that’s me😂
😅
Dillydallying is the act of wasting time through indecision, loitering, or dawdling. It means moving too slowly or stalling when one should be hurrying, often used to describe putting off tasks or acting in an idle, leisurely manner. The term originated around 1592, evolving from “dally” to signify idle behavio
What movie are you going to see?
Good morning Ardy. Are you trying to tell us in a nice way we are a lazy bunch? 🤭 🤣 Enjoy the movie, I had been thinking myself that it has been a long time since you have been to a movie.
perfect for what some of you say, a this and that kind of day…lol
😁
It is about that time to say good night, love you all. Stay safe, sleep well, dream big.
Good night Debbie. I hope you sleep well. Peaceful dreams. 😘😍
I see where Julie/Karen mentioned having lilacs; my favorite flower 💐 It may not have been cold enough/long enough where i live to get blooms 😔
They are beautiful, Pam, and I love the way they smell. Mine haven’t bloomed yet, but they’re getting ready.
they smell wonderful 😊
Maybe still Pam you will get lilacs? the changing temps are thowing off nature for plant and animal life
I am going to go eat supper. I may be back. If not, I hope you all have a good rest of your night. 🥰🤗
Enjoy your supper.
I did, ty. 😜
OMG!! When I got this new phone, I noticed a little camera on my Google homepage and I wondered what it was for. I figured I’d check it out later. Well, just now, I noticed Deborah’s post showing what it is. That is almost FREAKY!!!! Point that little camera at something and click on it, and the phone computer tells you what the item is!! That is just almost unfathomable to me, still stuck in the Stone Age, I guess. 🫣😵😲😱💥 I held my phone up to my water bottle and pushed the little camera, and it brought up the… Read more »
isn’t that fun 😊
I think it will be fun, if I could just get over it. 🤣🥰 I feel like I’ve been given the key to the universe! Not exactly, but that’s the only thing I could think of to explain it.
😄
🤣
I am having a real hard time keeping up with chat. It keeps jumping back to posts like at 1 this afternoon, then back to posts at 8 or 9 tonight. I’m not sure I’ve answered all posts to me, or even if I have read all of them. I really dislike that part of this format, it gets very confusing.
I agree with you Debbie; i hate when the chat bounces all over the darn place
I know what causes it. And that part of the format is what I don’t like. We used to be able to respond to an old post, and the original post and reply stayed down where the original post was. It didn’t all jump to the top.
It is probably my fault. I am reading posts and although I shut SPO down after responding to an old post, it still seems to mess everything up. What am I doing wrong?
You are not doing anything wrong. It happens if any of us respond to an old post. We respond because we have something to say, and we should be able to say it without everything jumbling up. It is the FORMAT.
Someone told me that if I totally cleared out of Spo after I’ve posted to an Old Post, it would solve the problem. Evidently not. So is there no way at all to respond to an Old Post other than to go back to top and reference it?
Not that I know of. It is the format. It wants to bring even a reply to the top. It should not do that for a reply. I think the reply should stay down in the proper sequence with the post that prompted the reply.
Definitely. I thought that’s what it did.
It used to. Did this happen to you when you first came to SPO?
I don’t remember for sure. I think maybe, at the DNR nest.
Debbie, I wanted to tell you that I’m really glad you got your prescription for Wegovy squared away. Scratch that headache away for another year or so!!
Thank you Karen, I was very happy. Wegovy does more than help with appetite. I think with me it helps with my signals from the brain that caused me as a kid to eat and throw up. It smooths out the body’s sugar level, maybe increase metabolism. In other words, it helps me to be a normal person when it comes to eating. If I overeat, it will be because I am being what people think of a fat person, a glutton with no self control. I have to exercise normal self control even with Wegovy.
Oh, I’m so glad. I know you really like it. And you have been feeling so much better. Did you have to go without it at all during this process?
I missed one weekly shot.
Not too.bad at all. 🙂
Debbie, I looked all over last night’s NBC News with Tom Llamas, and they changed it up at the end I think. It wasn’t there. So I looked at different excerpts from the news, and I couldn’t find it there either. If you can find it anywhere tonight or tomorrow or whenever, and it’s not too much trouble, I’d like to see it. 😉
