Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Checking in, I went for a walk came home got Jade out side dug around in my pots and was going to remove my prickly pear cactus be cause I thought it had died but on the dried out leaves underneeth the leaves roots were coming out so I replanted it, Its a cactus native to southern Wisconsin, that I have. I got zip ties that I needed and some wood… Read more »
You got your outside time. Good. Glad your cacti are growing. The WI beagle rescue was on ABC News.
Its made world news, just need to stop testing on animals, we have enough technology we don’t need to use animals any more
Sounds so good to me!
That farm is just outside Madison
I know.
Prickly pear cactus. I used to have one until a couple of years ago. I cut the paddles up to make cactus casserole. Yum!! Of course after I get all the needles off. 😆 sounds like a nice walk, Julie. 🤗
You ate your plant! Hi Karen.
Ha ha! It grows more leaves. The plant has pretty flowers and grows fruit at the top.
😂 😁 So you still have it?
No, it died a couple of years ago when I was in the hospital. ☹️
Awwww. Your hernia surgery.
Yep, that’s it. I might get another one. I have a cactus contact in Denver, online. So many beautiful succulents.
For a second I thought a second hernia surgery! 😁 Oh no! Yes by all means, get another cactus. Maybe it will grow big, then you can eat part, let it grow some more, eat again, grow again. 😁
I didn’t see this, debbie. I was reading up on the Saudi kingdom.
Saudi Kingdom? Never know what you are in to! 😂
I keep hearing about this Crown Prince and that he has finally wised up. I just wanted to check him out. The trail of royalty, his wife, etc. His wife is totally private. No pictures really, anywhere. Interesting. 😁
I think he may be making some improvements for women. I think it is Saudi’s that treat women badly but the Prince is letting them go in public without a husband or family member. Drive.
He is handsome, too. 😄 ( I had to throw that in. ) I am starting to like him as a leader.
He has learned what not to do from T.
I might. Not sure yet.
I’ve heard of it…what are the paddles?
Paddles are the broad flat leaves they have
You scrape the needles off of the long green pads, (the leaves), and cut the edges off, then chop them into half inch squares, and fry them up somewhat and then add whatever you want for your casserole, and bake it. The cooked paddles have a combination taste of jalapeno peppers and green beans, mixed. I add onions and cheese and a couple other things to mine. I haven’t cooked them in so long though, I have to look up the recipe. Really good for you.
Yum.
Oh, it is quite tasty! I also add chicken — i forgot.
Bet it is good.
Yes.
Hi Lady Bug😍🐞 I have had cactus before, can’t imagine cleaning one though so many tiny needles
The version i have only has about 10-15 needles per side, per paddle. Just scrape ’em off with a sharp knife. There are several varieties. 😋
I replied to this. Where is it? I must not have hit post. So you got your outdoor time in, and Jade too. Glad your cacti were ok. That Jade!
Just made me double check I thought I read part of this below🤔
Such a funny story on CBS News. Even the Pope had trouble with customer service. He even got hung up on!
😯
They didn’t believe he was the Pope. Really, I can’t blame them! 😁
Killian Korth from Grand Junction CO came in second under 58 hours….first male to come in
He hurt his hip in this race and kept on going
I saw him.
😄
Do the women start before the men? I was wondering because a woman was the first o e to complete the course.
Nope!
Rachel was just on fire!!!
So she beat everyone!
oh yes!
no way, they wouldn’t do that!
Congratulations to Killian; Colorado grows some very tough people 💗
😘
Ruff-ruff !!
Great he finished 😘 thanks for the pictures Ardyth😍
😀
Just got to see DJ Fox finish😍
Gutsy guy.
so Ardy saw a couple pictures of DS from when he was in it.. while she was watching…wish I’d seen them, I would have been excited!
and Debbie, I think the pacers have the go pros, at least some of them
Right now I did see what looked like pacers with cameras on their head. But earlier I saw elevated views.
Actually the first one i saw and i had taken the other one when he finished the cocodona race to compare.
I’m bundling up and going for a walk, will try to get Jade out side bib
Enjoy.
rachel finished 250 miles
WOO HOO!!! 😀
Congratulations to Rachel — Woo-hoo 😘
