Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good afternoon, thought I better check in. I see the little Hummers are gone. That’s good for them. I don’t know why but I had a terrible night last night. I finished watching a movie that I had recorded thinking I could go to sleep. When it was done it took me over 3 hours. My legs and even my arms were so restless. I just couldn’t lay still no matter what position I got in. I took a CBD gummy then I rubs my night cream on my legs. Then I took those pills I bought for RLS that… Read more »
Oh dear Ardy that just sounds horrible. Wish there was a better solution for you. Have you ever seen a neurologist? You are brave to go on with your plans. I didn’t know there was that pill. I hope tonight is better for you.
I take a prescription tablet for Parkinson’s twice a day. That was prescribed by a neurosurgeon. The other pills that you stick under your tongue are some I ordered online and they’re not supposed to interfere with any other drugs that you take..
Did the Parkinson’s medicine ever help more than now? If it was prescribed a good while ago could be something newer that helps now. But I’m sure you have googled/researched.
You know I don’t know if I can say that it did help more at one time than it does now because I used to have it really bad I could not even sit still to fly on an airplane. That is when a customer of mine said you know they have medicine to take care of that. I had no idea yeah I was on duty so the doctor I was seeing at the time sent me to a neurologist and he put me on this medication. I have been on this medicine probably 40 years and I think… Read more »
Is it gone pretty sure gabapentin is a narcotic now so I don’t know about that?
Nancy is on some Gabapentin now, but about half as much as she was. It isn’t the best thing to be on probably. I think if you haven’t actually seen a neurologist in a long time seeing one now might be a good idea. I think RLS is one of those kind of conditions that are hard to treat and new things are coming to light. My RA went undiagnosed until I saw a specialist. My family doctor had lab work done and didn’t find it. It was a neurologist who convinced me to go to that specialist who found… Read more »
…………
I found this
I saw that too when I Googled
Oh my. My husband has been on Gabapentin off and on, and it seems to counteract with other meds sometimes.
😘
Maybe the Gabapentinoids are like Gabapentin without being a narcotic.
I see Julie in three weeks and I will talk to her about my RLS
Yes I wish there was something else that could be done but I don’t think there is
See a neurologist to be sure you have the best plan of action for current knowledge.
Afternoon Ardyth, you sure had a night, hope tonight will be better for you, I know nothing about RLS what brings the episodes on?
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), also known as Willis-Ekbom disease, is a common neurological disorder characterized by an uncontrollable urge to move the legs, usually accompanied by uncomfortable sensations (itching, crawling, pulling). Symptoms worsen during rest or inactivity, particularly in the evening, and can significantly disrupt sleep
I was thinking of recently when it really bothered you at the movie.
Having trouble sitting at a movie is nothing new It happens quite often I can’t sit still in church either I can’t sit still anywhere to tell you the truth never have been able to even since I was a kid.
Oh honey I had no idea, Its like you have to stay moving to avoid it. How long have you been dealing with this?
Most of my adult like, I have been on prescription meds since the 90’s
OMGoodness, what a nightmare of a night for you 🙏 {{HUGS}}
Last night was bad…..Rick is used to me but I hate dealing with this when for example visiting JoAnn AND Mike even though she knows me well, people dont understand it
Impressive that you made it out of the house today. I don’t know that I could have. I am glad you are feeling better, Ardyth. 😘
Tallis enjoying some water😁

Interesting🤔
So sad they have grown and left. I enjoyed watching these little guys. I hope they have another nest to switch to.
Hi Jersey. The second one hasn’t been gone too long. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we see more babies. There are two nests they have moved the camera back and forth. One mom is April, the other Lilie.
More to come😍
Empty nest
they will probably switch back to Lily’s nest now
bye bye birdy

That baby was so cute when I saw her flapping this morning.
