Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good early evening! I got out of the shower about half an hour ago, played with Dutchess for a little bit, and now I’m going to eat supper. I think I will have a large chicken noodle soup serving, toast with jelly, and applesauce. I am feeling much better today. Tomorrow I will have to start working on building back all the muscle strength I lost during the last week or so. What joy!!! 😁🫣

Thanks, Pam. 🤗 Indeed, it will take quite a bit of time and effort to get back to where I was. The older you get, the harder it is. That’s okay though, I’m just glad I can breathe. 🙏

Hi Karen, I’m so happy you are feeling better. Now follow what you said. Get some calories in you, hydrate, rest. You can work on regaining more strength over the next few days. No rush. Love.

Thank you, Ardyth. This was a rough one. Probably because I was already worn down from taking care of the baby while she was so sick. Now we are both on the mend and will help each other feel better.

Hello…sitting on the porch, it’s so nice out…we had dog class at a park today..some people got really close to one of the dogs in our class while she was working with him…this dog is a “reactive” dog and we don’t get that close..so..of course the dog started attacking one of their little dogs…why were they SO close?? don’t know..but the people were all mad…we were at a distance but the trainer was there talking to them so that was our big excitement for the day…we also went to a farm stand for asparagus, going to eat some in a… Read more »

that’s up to the owner or trainer..but it was weird that people would walk by that close, no idea why they did that

Oh no, Lynn! What were the breeds of the two dogs involved in the disturbance? I feel sorry for the little doggy. I’m guessing that he or she wasn’t hurt, or you would have said something. The one definitely needs more social etiquette lessons. 🤯🙂 From what I’ve seen, it’s normally the little one who causes the disturbance. But, being a rescue dog, who knows what the poor thing has been through. I can just envision Bane running around with the sprinkler. 😂😘

I know it’s sad for the little dog but I don’t think they should have been walking by that close and surprising the other dog and owner..she didn’t even see them coming

Debbie, Did you watch Yellowstone? Dutton Ranch is kinda a spinoff, some of the same characters…

KyDebbie
May 16, 2026 7:48 pm

No, I don’t have that channel. There are so many ways to get tv now, some in a big package like your cable and my streaming YouTube TV. Some in another, smaller package, maybe like Peacock or Disney +? I don’t know about them because I don’t have them, but I think they are paid. Then there are channels where you pay for just one premium channel like Netflix. I get so confused.

Howdy-do BellaFam — I’m b-a-a-ck 😉 What a lovely party. Cody/Laura rented an AirBnB on in Palmer Lake, it made more work for them to haul all the decorations/food, but it meant their house was a wonderful oasis after the party. Laura is so creative, she spent hours/weeks creating two 3ft by 4ft collages of Dominic from his birth to now. If he ever had any doubts, he sure knows his family loves him; everyone was there. Cody smoked chicken and a pork brisket, plus chipotle corn and beans, among a bunch of other sides. Laura fixed me a plate/dish… Read more »

So are Noah and Jamie no longer in the navy? Maybe employed by Boeing now?

Hi Debbie ♥ When Noah left the Navy, he came home with a wife/Jamie who is a lovely addition to the family. Noah was going to school for some engineering certification, i have no idea what, but Boeing came calling; hired him to work in their wiring division and moving him to South Carolina. Boeing sent packers/movers to take everything, including their vehicles.
